Remember Lee, toy soldiers are for life, much as i would like my testicles to be, so a concession needs to be made!

Sadly may not make Euro either this year now as getting married in England whilst domiciling in Scotland means we have to spend 7 days in England in a row before we can register with registry office, so my annual leave is kinda being gobbled up.

So i may just get to Golden demon and that's it. Though may argue working at home for some.

This of course if i haven't totally forgotten how to paint after so long not painting properly Don't want to be a non-finalist again.

Finally pulled my finger out and got back to painting properly this year.

I am painting the new GW blood angel terminator librarian, not sure if i will do this as a competition piece, ro just to get my eye in again.

Using the scale 75 paints in anger for the first time, and have to say, i am kind of in love with them.

Got some more done. I finished the face and went for making the eyes blue with a dot highlight, really hard to photograph well, but its something i saw at W.world once and wanted to replicate it.

Red of the shoulders was done with scale 75 red set but needs a bit more shading i think.

Blue is just first thin coat, a GW blue, scale 75 stuff on way though.

Happier with progress than before.

make sure you get a full & solid base coat before shading mate. And keep the edge highlights as sharp as possible.

Aye, the blue is literally just a wash over the undercoat at that point, about 3 thin coats over that now and first base highlight. No pics of that yet.

the shoulder pads need another red mid tone thin coat, and the edges re done, the right hand one had a nudge and needs re doing, but the face is what i am very pleased with, i just like doing them for some reason.

This may not be an entry, it may just be to get my eye in, then do something like Astorath or the new Ad mech command boy.

yes painting faces is fun, I think its to do with watching something come to life as you paint

Part of the issue with the reds too is the scale 75 paints are different to work with than vallejo or GW, so getting used to them staying fluid is different, and the heat doesnt help.

I may crack out the wet pallette from a kickstarter i got to try and smooth out the blends a bit, as i know i can do it, but its been almost 6 months since i painted properly so will be a bit off.

Aiming for finalist again if i am going

For best results its worth experimenting by mixing the different brands to get the best results. EG I would use GW reds to base coat & layer the shoulder pads. Then use the scale 75 (as they have a more transparant nature) to shade / glaze etc.

With scale 75 make sure you shake those bastards to death, then after, start shaking them again!!!!

Nice delivery, they are my favourite paints range. I just have to have them all, 8 of the sets so far and I have neither of your delivery. Sadly take some time to complete my sets.

I will gradually get them all but as i have the big GW paint set and a lot of vallejo too, i don't need to buy 'just coz' yet

Lovely new FW Mars Pattern Warlord Titan...head,

Good to see FW pulling the finger out in delivery quality, new boxes, new instructions in lavish quality paper and detail, no more photocopied rubbish.

Also a lot bigger than i was expecting AND more parts than i expected.

Diorama plan is go!
