Started workin on my diorama entry in case we do get a golden demon this year in some form.

started making the base surround and bottom layer.

i also have painted the interior up to the first varnish coat before washes and weathering.

love the wee kit, never made one before

Did the pin wash to bring out the detail and add some grime.

This was W&N oil paints black and burnt umber and white spirit.

Then a coat of Klear before chipping and highlighting, then matt varnish before its all closed up.

Pics are with and without flash, the top one shows off the wash better as the normal one looks like I haven't done anything hehe.

coolio! will be interesting to see how this turns out, although not particularly fond of that armored vehicle a proper paintjob might hot it up

as for gamesday, latest rumor/gossip; no gamesday but golden demon in nottingham HQ. same for germany (not in nottingham obviously lol) but another rumor that the continental GD will rotate each year between spain-france-germany-italy, i.e two GDs each year. lets see how much truth these rumors are, i love when poeple start to speculate

GD @ Notts HQ sounds plausible as they have the grand re-opening around sept\October after their big update I think, and getting to Nottingham is easier than Birmingham I find from my neck of the woods.

Its getting painted come what may, thoughts are green but heavily weathered, left out in the elements too long idea. The squad in the scene wont have come from that particular vehicle, they will just be below it saving their sgt.

Few things done last night, mainly sponged on Skavenblight Dinge for chipping,then sprayed testors dullcoat.

Once that was dry I added more dinge to show the paint wearing through on the floor where the guys would get in and sit,then I rubbed a HB pencil onto the edges o show rubbing down to bar metal.

Then painted the drivers overalls and washed them, just the cupola seat and drivers head to do, he drivers flesh will be pale with a bullet in the helmet.

I also started filling in join lines with putty

That looks incredibly authentic, it could easily be used on a film set !!!
I'm interested in the frame you made for the base. Are you just really good at mitres or is this something you bought ?

I bought a cheap plastic mitre box at local b&q hardware store, some wood moulding strip and used my modelling saw. Just measure heaps and then cut. It's not 100% will need tiny amount of filler but it's getting stained and varnished too.

You can also troll micheals or ikea for picture frames on sale and then just replace the glass and backing with, foam board, foam insulation or mdf board cut to the right size. If you fear the miter box/saw

Only a little done on the piece as working on my raptor army for a GW tourney and had mates round to play lots of Infinity on Saturday....there may have been drinking.... I glued the tank mostly together before final checks and closing up, I also finished a basic tidy head for the dead driver.

I also started making the foam to carve the scenic base....it expanded...lots!

Not a huge amount done recently, all prep stuff.

I have received all my weathering materials now, and am sorting out the basics of the scenic diorama shape, a sort of underpass of a freeway\motorway with a built up rubble pile slope.

Mostly stuffing cotton wool into the tank interior to protect the painted interior and I have started cleaning up the tempestus scions squad pieces.

Hopefully paint will go on Taurox soon

Well after all the changes in news as to whether or not a golden demon was happening, I shelved the tarox project to finish some paying projects first.

However now we know there is to be a demon, it is a bit of a rush to get it going, so plan is to change my idea as the scions planned diorama would have taken too long and been a pain to transport by plane.

The plan now is to do a diorama of a desert scene with elysian snipers and a buggy and a Mukalli rider, as well as a Armageddon pattern basilisk for the vehicle category done like a static tank dug out that has been abandoned with shell casing scattered about and ruined defensive stuff.

Hopefully my FW delivery will appear today

Even so great job on them. I have never done decals before but imagine they are quite tedious.
