Hi folks, back from my brief sojourn into Englandshire.
A question, what is the story on entering GD with stuff you have entered into other competitions, or an older GD?
I.e. if you made something, but reworked it, rebased and such, is that allowed?
I remember reading something years ago that you couldnt enter GD twice with the same thing, but i have known stuff to be entered twice if its been changed?
Just mulling an idea over for a squad entry.
Just a curio.

fire away mate, as long as it hasn't won GD before everything goes.

Oh right, i must have mis-interpreted.
Coolio.
Its basically my eagle warrior command group, the base was a bit poor but the figures were good, i just looking to put them on a stand alone plinth (i.e. no diorama\setting) and upgrade the metals and bases.
As i feel they are good enough for a finalist but the breakage on the day and poor base let them down.
Always bring more than one attempt

Back in the painting throne tonight. mainly blocking in colours and tidying up bits, and work on parchment and book.

Apparently my finalist from last years GD is in visions this month....only took till the last time they show 2014's stuff in the mag to get in haha

More work on the librarian. Putting the head in I find it doesn't actually fit unless you build before painting!
After a LOT of swearing, I got it in but it will need a small amount of filler material under the neck.
No major drama and a tiny repair on paint but otherwise almost there.

The main bit i am undecided on is the banding on the cable from the axe.
Do i keep it as it is (and tidy up edging) or do i go for black and shade in a slight sheen?

I painted over it in the end, it drew the eye away from the face, which is the main odd colour in the mix. think i will do a dark grey on th main cable and red on the secondary cable. Ties it together and doesn't detract too much as focus should be the core of the model.
I also made some Fimo and Milliput layered sheets to create slate type rocks. using this as my start for a desert\orange dust type base.

Mostly got them complete, did the new bases and some tidying of the squad entries.
Srry for the blurry pics, i have lost my tripod so pics were hand held and on manual setting.
I will sort out better pics this week before packing them up for the trip

I think they look fantastic - the banner especially so. One minor thing (sorry) - and it could just be the angle the pic was taken at - but the middle guy with his sword lowered looks like he is based at a more extreme angle to the other fellows. It sort of stands out to me and jars with an otherwise really well-balanced collection of figures.
