Sounds a bit confusing, but I'll give it a shot. So basically stack a bunch of thin layers of milliput and fimo, alternating between the two materials?

@TheLost. Hi, Thanks for the kind words :)

The slate is made from thin sheets of both FIMO (Oven baked type) and standard Milliput (I use standard as it's easy to tell when it's fully mixed, as superfine white the 2 components are almost identical in colour.

Make up equal amounts of both Milliput (and same amount cut from a FIMO block) form into 2 balls once you have mixed the 2 parts of the Milliput.

Roll out the balls into 1mm-2mm thin sheets (if you do it between 2 parts of grease proof paper or silicone impregnated baking paper) to stop it sticking. If you peel off the paper and lay down the opposite direction, I.e. The thin part of the rolled out shape will now be the horizontal plane IYSWIM.

Do that a few times till its at thickness I mentioned, then slice into smaller sheets and sandwich the FIMO/Milliput with maybe 6-8 layers, then roll them together with your rolling pin etc/

Slice that sheet in half and put one part on top of the other, making sure you don't have FIMO/Milliput touching at the join.

Roll out again until you get a nice sort of ripple effect at the squashed edges.

The bake in the oven as the instructions for FIMO give (about 10 mins at 100.C I think)

Then when cool, break the sheet up with pliers etc, don't cut it with a knife as you want rough breaks.

It takes a few goes but you get a nice tub of 'slate'

Hope that helps.

Classic! May want to consider a grey or light blue for teh scratches though, seems to close to the white parts of the mini. Love the base BTW.

Working on lots of things during my redundancy. Did a basic commission for a friend's shop, some AvP stuff from Prodos, just basic standard for his demo games.

I also did some arcadia quest minis for a friend, was nice to do something very different from usual and enjoyed the faces.

My next project is a first. A 75mm scale figure, it's from scale 75 and first go at so much flesh to do, so it will help improve my hand blending.
