I don\'t think England deserved to lose, but that was a pretty lacklustre performance.
Was exactly the kind of game I thought they might produce but really hoped they wouldn\'t. USA were better than I expected though, they finished really strong, especially for an amature team!

Two unsavoury moment s in that Eng v US match: Vickery\'s trip on Emerick and then, later, Emerick\'s spear-tackle on Barkley.

I must say, the European teams are looking shite at the moment. France were one-dimensional and boring whilst England were one-dimensional and boring too. Not a good sign. I\'d go so far as to demand England recompense me for the two wasted hours I spent watching them play yesterday. Barnes summed it up when he mentioned the handicap rule in betting and said, quite simply, \"the US won\".

I was watching the live score on the BBC site for NZ yesterday, and I\'m just glad Italy managed to score a couple of tries. I\'m looking forward to Italy Scotland now.

Aus took Japan apart, but it\'s hard to gauge how weak Japan are until they play a few more matches. That\'ll put things in context.

Wales v Canada today. I think we\'ll win but I fear a performance no better than England\'s yesterday. Then the Bokke have Samoa! They\'ll win comfortably, but it\'ll be a right bruiser. Can\'t wait!

All Blacks looked ok, but let the game get sloppy near the end when they should have locked it down. Didnt see the Aus-Japan game, but the score line certainly looked imposing.

I think it was 26-3 or something half time, Aus v Jap. Whereas Aus then cranked it up, Eng looked out of sorts. US deserve a load of credit for keeping up with England, but then the way Eng played, it wasn\'t as if they were being stretched that much. Eng played into US hands I suppose.

Wow, I thought Canada were going to beat us. They were superb in that first half. We aren\'t world beaters by any stretch though. Some nice tries in the end, but 40mins of unwarranted self-manufactured pressure. Shocking.

SA were aided by some diabolical refereeing. Should have been 14-all at half time, and who knows what might have happened after that.

I\'d like to say that France is going to win against Namibia, but considering how bad we\'ve been doing in sports lately (basketball, soccer, athletisme, ect.) I\'m not going to get my hopes to high up.

The All Blacks should easily crest 100 points, England will be thumped by at least 20 points (Farrel at flyhalf, you\'re having a laugh!).

I think the Wales game will be closer than a lot of people think. Playing in Cardiff will be a boost i should imagine.

The french post-doc in my lab has been getting all sorts of shit this week, first the loss to Argentina then Scotland in the football. Hopefully the All Blacks dont make to many mistakes - itd be awful to lose to the French in the quarters

The Japan v Fiji match was a corker the other day. In fact the best day of rugby yet, with all 3 games looking close.
