Alright, ladies and gentlemen, since the first thread temporarily disappeared for technical reasons, I\'m starting this anew.

This thread had been moved to the Mods Only area due to the need for some editing.
Unfortunatley a technical hitch has prevented it being moved back. Margo has kindly reposted the thread and I have copied all the relevant responses below. (I\'m sorry that I had to remove peoples signatures but the entry was getting too cumbersome)

The base is very appropriate and the blueish/green really pops out at you. I want to buy one of these now.nice to see you back BTW

Lovely work on the armour.

very nice, but why is she choking a dove?

More tasteful than choking the chicken?

Since the first time I saw this mini, I liked it. But your conversion of it makes it look even better! I love it. Excellent work!(Did you sculpt those wings, or \'borrow\' them from another mini?)

Borrowed from a Pegasus. Not sure he\'s getting them back.

Dr Sanch posted on 7-1-2005 at 07:39 PM

That\'s a fantastic paintjob, and the wings work beautifully.

BanJo posted on 7-1-2005 at 07:47 PM

wonderful!! voted and commented! An obvious ten!

Ritual posted on 7-1-2005 at 07:47 PM

I like this one a lot! The armour is wonderfully painted. I do think the wings could have been given a bit more depth. Also, I would like to see the back of the mini. I\'m curious about how the wings are attached.Still, it\'s only minor complaints on an overall beautiful mini!

Drake Farstriderposted on 7-1-2005 at 07:48 PM

I love the armor, that blue wourk incredibly well with this mini.

I couldn\'t take a good picture, the wings from the back are way too three dimensional, and my camera is unabe to capture the mini from that perspective, blurring the wings out However, if you\'re curious to see how the wings are attached, I can show you a picture just to see the conversion. Nevermind the quality of the photo, please ...

Loverly....Hey Margo, not been here for a while so it was a pleasure to see such a lovely model as I was mooching about catching up with things.Excellent paintjob and conversion. The armour looks fantastic and the addition of the wings makes a huge difference. Lovely! just picked it \'cos it rhymed with pillow.

Ritual posted on 7-1-2005 at 08:11 PM

Thanks Margo! That looks nice! A good way to \'hide\' the joint between wings and back.

Aha I got rid of the jump pack since it didn\'t make much sense now that she had wings. And used the little wings to cover the place where it used to be. Plus, she\'s got similar wings on her shoulderpad, as well as under her knees. So it all rhymes And thank you everybody for compliments! I\'m glad you liked the mini.

how does one find the Russian Games Day I googled, searched the GW site, did everything in my power to see pictures of what did get first and to see Margo\'s there and came up empty handed

No wonder ... it will take a while till they post the event report to the Games Workshop Northern Europe website.

TAB Studio posted on 7-1-2005 at 09:40 PM

ok I will head there because I could not even find last years etc Thanks Margo

Drake Farstrider posted on 7-2-2005 at 09:01 AM

Wow that red is stunning on her. I had not really noticed it the 1st time around. Congrats on taking 2nd. Well deserved.

Avelorn posted on 7-2-2005 at 12:09 PM

Very nice work! The blendings seems very smooth and I like the colourselection. the wings was a great improvement on a allready nicely sculpted mini. However you could maybe add more shading to the mini, some parts lacks contrast a bit.

leopardpixie posted on 7-2-2005 at 02:39 PM

Very nice, ... Now when ever i finish mine they are going to think that i copied you color scheem... But i\'m had it almost completed for a year now. BUt enough of my complaining, LOvely Paint job Margo

Jambot13 posted on 7-2-2005 at 03:54 PM

That\'s a really great job. I\'ve seen Celestine painted well so many times that I thought I\'d never be impressed by it again, but yours really works for me. The blue is so lush.

Thank you for your compliments! By judging from the pictures of Anjas and other people\'s work I\'ve seen published, I wouldn\'t bet on those pictures being very nice.. But maybe they\'ve learnt their lesson?

Margo, I think this is definately the best work I\'ve seen you do, however, I also feel it\'s just a hint of what you\'re truely capable of. I can\'t wait to see your next pieces :)

Wow!!:eek::eek: The blue is perfection. I love the skin because it\'s just so smooth! The wings could use a little more depth and the sword, for some reason doesn\'t seem realistic to me. It is well blended of course, but doesn\'t seem to have enough contrast. Don\'t get me wrong, I definitely gave it a ten! Congratulations on getting 2nd, and I would love to see the mini that beat this! Maybe I\'m a little late catching this, but the sculpted roses seem to be your trademark, which is a nice touch. Is that right? The gold rocks too.

Thank you everybody for compliments!

@EricJ: I\'ll post a few more pics of my latest work soon, yet Celestine is the freshest. I just couldn\'t wait to share it with you guys, so I posted it first :)

@james: Yes, I like adding sculpted roses where they\'re appropriate, so I guess it can be called a trademark. As for the rest, thank you for your remarks, it\'s very useful to learn an objective opinion.

Yes, they\'re going to post the event report on GW Northern European website some time soon. The Russian Games Day is organized by the local GW distributor and supervised by GW Northern Europe.

Breathtaking work there. Margo, you are improving in leaps and bounds.

More and more I am realising my painting technique is in the dark ages.

Wow, this is fantastic - the blues, the reds, the wings and roses! All ties in beautifully. This sculpt just calls out for wings, I didn\'t really get the original with the drapes, or was it meant to be a cape?

I was going to post a message yesterday - before the technical hitch - but glad to see it back up again!

I\'ve never seen blues like that. If it\'s not divulging too many secrets, how did you do it? Everything else is also freakin awesome. The conversion, the red cloak. Yeah, maybe the wings need a little more depth, but they\'re certainly better than anything I could do.

Sure, no secret at all. I only used three colors for creating the blues: Hawk Turquoise, Ice Blue and Skull White.

And once again, thanks for compliments and critiques!

Hmmm. I guess that kinda makes sense. I thought there was bleached bone in there for some bizarre reason. Wrong again. Thanks.

Interesting, those are the same blues I used on my dragyri\'s armor, magic color combo! ;)

You\'ve really really used them well

(now didn\'t you promise me a peek at some of the other things you\'ve been working on? *impatient*) :D

Margo

Oh right, Eric! Only you seem to have used more Ice Blue than Hawk Turquoise, while I started with Hawk, then proceeded with Hawk+Ice and only then added white to the mixture, and finished with pure white. So in my case there was very little pure Ice Blue used, mainly a mixture with Hawk Turquoise.

As for the rest, I will definitely post all of my recent works, just don\'t want to upload everything at once. Still waiting for Celestine to get into \"active\" mode, by the way :)

I think you\'re right, but I just looked at them side by side and it looks like they\'re pretty close, of course we used different styles, perhaps mine is a bit more ice blue based. :)

You can always show me secretly ;)
