I suspect that ones a german great sword. But The claymore was just as big :yes:
It could be wielded with one hand (though ungainley) and causes a hella lot of damage through sheer weight and momentum. so really, that issues a bit of a moot point considering marines ect are uber strong

Well as with everything else it\'s about styles. Some styles some like, others hate.

For example light on a miniature can be done very realistical with overhead lighting etc. But it can also be simplified like they do in certain art or comics. It might there either to show a direction of light or to enhance a 3d feeling. Just because you don\'t picture a 300W bulb being placed directly over your mini everytime you paint, doesn\'t mean it can\'t be good looking. It\'s a question of styles more than anything else. As I\'ve got pieces in my collection from a wide range of artist I can compare.. and trust me the eavy metal team for example measures up very well.

Anyhow, I like realism in my mini\'s and my voting here tends to reflect that - although I can be swayed by an amazing paintjob (or cash bribe). I find big ungainly weapons that look out of proportion a real turn off (that wasn\'t supposed to sound rude). Another exception to the rule would be deliberately cartoony/comic figures which I do like too.

My own painting style (such as it is) tends towards darker and realistic colours which I find don\'t photograph as well as bright contrasting ones but I\'ll keep dong it anyway, so there

Semi realistic. If it looks too cartoonish then I wont even bother painting them. I dont have a problem with a SM carrying all the stuff on its back etc even the spikey chaos armour as its really the feal of the mini that counts.
