Origineel geplaatst door green stuffHow many of you have the Rackham Miséricorde mini?
Not me, but I can check what I have that would come close to it (not the fiannas that is. :) ). Are her proportions believable or exagerated like on the fiannas?
She\'s as skinny as a fianna but doesn\'t have their \"implants\".

Ok, I just measured a fianna to check:
- the body is pretty much perfect 8 heads high. This is a traditional idealised ratio which gives an elegant type of figure (7-7.5 is a more realistic ratio). Going from the diagram that goes with it:
-shoulderwidth is correct in the ratio, about 2 headheights.
-breast height is right.
-het croth is about 1.5mm too high giving her elongated legs. This is a trick used by fashion designers to make their model sketches look elegant.
-arms are have also been lengthened with about 1.5mm.
- unnaturally skinny and thin in the legs.

So for the face it could be a good reference.

I\'ll send you a 36mm diagram, so you can check your mini.

As to how we go on. How about seting a date for all sketches of the angel to be in so we can decide on a final design and start dividing the work? EDIT- ok, saw you just mailed that. :)

do we know when we\'re doing this yet?
As soon as everybody agrees on the sketches and roles are given I suppose. If that could be before the end of next week, it would be great. I\'ll be on vacation for two weeks starting on December 17th, so I\'ll have plenty of time for it.
[edit]Arrfff, you beat me to it Ming-Hua ;)[/edit]

I\'ll try to get some images uploaded on monday of some designs, if that\'s ok with everyone.

In the meantime, I thought I\'d show you what I have been able to sculpt, as I\'ve joined this little project without you guys knowing what I can do;
greenstage1.jpg

he\'s a WIP, obviously. On the large side - about 38mm or thereabouts. First headsculpt too.

LOL Tuubje, great avatar ;).

These fine people are participating in the sculpting project:
1.Medved - UK
2.green stuff - France
3.Spacemunkie - UK
4.minimaker - Netherlands
5.t_haye2 - UK
6.Orb - UK
7.Trevor - Australia
8.Tuubje - Belgium
9.Itchy - US
10.waxfive - UK
11.Xavier - US

What figure : the cyber-angel to be precise. Medved is having fun with his fantasy angel ;).

Roles will be given once we all agree on a sketch.

@Orb : Monday will be great for the sketches :).

Any thoughts on my idea for a display base? I know Spacemunkie does these, but he may be a bit sick of them ;)

I\'m almost more excited about the base than the actual mini (almost). Maybe when the mini sketches are done I\'ll do some for the base (and please everyone else chip in with ideas and sketches, I\'m crap at drawing).

My though would be to do like with most minis and just go for a tab/integral base and let everybody make his/her favourite base when painting instead of dictating it with the sculpture. I\'m in favour of a tab for a slotted base by the way.

I\'ve just set up an angel model in poser so I can try out poses. Her is a first try:

This could be usefull when we discuss poses for the mini.

(forgot to add, gun model by Ali)

Excellent Ming-Hua.

I\'ve been sketching out some details for the figure but only touched on poses; this is a great way of presenting it!

I\'ll try to post some detail sketches tomorrow - been a hectic weekend (my son\'s 7th birthday) so haven\'t done as much as I\'d like.......but definately get something posted.

Well, i\'d say posture would be hugely affected by what type of character you want. Rocked out cyberpunk, or calm collected angel from above? Shouldn\'t we deside on that before we move on to sketches? Maybe i missed something (been gone this weekend)

Wow, i just saw you\'re sculpting rig... gotta make me one of them! Been using a penut butter jar lid with different holes for the feet bases/wires! Man, i feel dumblol

Actually I meant a base with a hole for the tab, so the mini is seperate. That way if we cast it, you don\'t have to have the base.

Not necessarily. We can also choose the sketch we like best (clothing, equipment, idea) and then design the best pose to go with it. Poser works well for that. Here are some other poses:

You mean mine? That one work quite fine actually. Corks are more often used but I prefer being able to clamp something.

intermediate sketch of our cyber angel:

cmoncyberangel.jpg

she\'s 8 heads high; main elements taken from Greenstuff\'s sketch; robotic right arm, sword style and machine pistol.
yet to detail the wings and robotic arm - left arm gloved giving some symmetry to robotic arm.

Like the idea of her abandonned by her family following an attack where she was left for dead; \"God\" came (some sort of cybernetic expert - maybe working for larger organisation) and ressurected her - wings are implanted.

Forgive the \"Celestine\" pose - this was to work out details not pose - Ming-Hua\'s poser concepts are great - will work one up with some of these details.

I guess everyone will dispute the details. I\'ll work on cleaner sketches over the next couple of days, with specific details of wings etc....

Opinions folks? More background details?

I put one of your sketched poses in poses with a set of batwings to give an idea how that would look:

ca_pose2.jpg

Note, this pose puts a lot of stress on the left leg. It would be best to add a stone or something beneath the right one.

In itself it doesn\'t matter if your figure is not posed. It wouldn\'t be the first time a drawing is only used for the details and a different pose is used. I\'m looking forward to seeing more details. The clothing is somewhat generic now. As to the background, what I\'d be interested in is how she feels about it.

Haven you seen Johnny Mnemonic? Your remark reminds me of the street preacher in that movie.

Great poses and concepts Ming-Hua and Orb :).

Here is an idea for the wings:

As is, it\'s really to thin to cast; but it was just to see how they could hook on to her.
