SCULPTING-works in progress

Here\'s a little practice piece I sculpted last week. I wanted to get the hang of cloth sculpting.

What do you think?

My first post to the sculpting thread -- my third attempt at any serious conversion.

I have always really liked the SoB Seraphim models but really, really hate the little foot pegs they\'re held up with. I\'m trying my hand at sculpting the robes to hold her up. Once this layer is dry I\'ll add another, with a lot more folds, to add depth to the robe.

Feedback would be GREATLY appreciated at this stage - thankee.

Granddad!
looking good both of you

@bill: did you get the shape of the robes on an armature first or did you just sculpt straight on the mini?

@MrJ: doesn\'t look like you are doing anything wrong so far

Everybody\'s doing some really great looking work!

Here\'s the latest update on the Spider Queen. All of the parts are completed and dry-fit together perfectly. I just haven\'t had a chance to do a full assembly yet. Once I can put it together I\'ll post some shots with different views.

Seraphim #2

My second Seraphim conversion. I am much, much happier with this one but will probably need to embed a weight in the base... just in case. Feedback appreciated - this is a new direction for me.

i am not really progressing with him as i don\'t want to try and sculpt (and therefore cock up) his trousers...

and a mutant kid (inspired by ep 3 of salad fingers). he some bits are a bit rough but i have dealt with most of them now, but htis is how he looked yesterday:

I guess he\'ll sweep you to death! lol

I\'m just kidding. The conversion looks good though weird with the origanal feet still on there.

It\'s not a broom handle, its a spear handle. I had to remove the head of the spear to get the left arm in place. I had to hack the hand off, drill a hole through it large enough to push the spear handle through, then re-attach the arm, at a funny angle to the shoulder (explaining the dodgy bit of sculpting to the shoulder). the hand is a bit of a mess. getting prepared to hack those feet off, perhaps my dodgy sculpting will go as far as at least sculpting a pair of new ones. (crosses fingers- no face for that unfortunately.:(
just a little extra:
Anyone got an idea of how to make him look like he\'s in the air without resorting to a flying stand-sorry but they look so fake.
Next project after this guy. One on the ground, wings outstretched. Wish I\'d done that first. Be prepared to see him in perhaps.... six months?
Mick:)

Oooook theres been rather a long absense of posts in this thread so I thought I\'d start it up again with:

Albert the Mad magazine boy. This is a bust I\'m making in fimo mix of FIMO soft skincolor and FIMO soft Black. I have been working on him for so far about two hours, he stands about two centimetres tall from neckbase to top of head.

I do hope that you like him, and remember he\'s a WIP.
