All this talk of \"being nice\" and \"not being unkind\" shows such a deep understanding of world affairs and political history. I\'m sooooo impressed :duh:

Ummmm. My wife is a vegetarian which means i mostly live as one too. She really cares about animals so while she likes the taste of meat, she cannot bring herself to eat it.

By the way, when i have kids and one of them \"comes out\" it won\'t make a difference. They will still be loved for who they are.

?? Don\'t get that post, sounds like the one from Stone, just only against rich...

I think no one deserves something like this, but its not up to us to choose. Another thing is that people in the are are not only poor, everyone is suffering. It unbelieveable tragedy....80 000 dead...thats just so sad.

If I would flame anyone these days it would be the government in myanmar...

Well and Stone\'s a nutcase...I didn\'t know but I always thought =)

Stone doesn\'t sound like the WBC. She sounds JUST like all the other Hollywood morons. They don\'t get higher educations (most don\'t even finish acting school), they don\'t serve in the military, they don\'t work for a living, but they\'re experts on regular guys and the leftist media feeds their own preposterous belief that they\'re intellectuals. If you listen to her statement she can\'t even construct a sentence without using the word like. If she thinks China\'s earthquake is karmic retribution, then how does she explain the fact that her state is synonymous with earthquakes in the US. Is that karma for Hollywood\'s asinine antics?

This is what WE ALL GET for allowing these types of folks to even get to have \'their say\' anyhow.

Ms. Stone is just as entitled to her asinine opinions as anyone else is. But the difference is that her opinion holds more weight, because as a society we diefy the WRONG PEOPLE!!

Instead of making heros of people that work their asses off to get what they need, we continually praise those who are the prettiest, fastest, strongest, best actor. I say we need to STOP giving them that power.

WE all give them that power, every time we watch a TV gossip show, buy one of those ridiculous Tabloids, or worse yet, say nothing when everyone else does. Stop buying that crap and this all goes away. I don\'t care what hair conditoiner the Olsen Twins use, or who is boinking who on the movie set.

We glorify these people. We give them the power to get to stand on the podium and sound idiotic.

This is our karmic restitution for allowing the media to pull the wool over our eyes. This is what we get for not caring about real world events, but only those seen through the eyes of the rich and famous!

Agreed Vike. It\'s why I rarely buy movies or music. I still occasionally go to watch them but that\'s a rarity too. I just don\'t need them, especially when it means I\'ll be supporting dumbasses who are otherwise unemployable. I especially don\'t need them when they put that anti-piracy crap at the front that you can\'t fast forward over.

Just a thought on IQ. Can anyone find me a celebrity that hasn\'t got a publicly admitted one below average, just don\'t think your going to find it, its not like test results are public domain.

I couldn\'t agree more. I don\'t know about the state of our western folks here, but I can tell you that we Hong Kong people are stars/tabloid/gossip crazy. Seeing the faces, the \"stories\" of these so-call \"artists\" is inevitable (sp?). They are everywhere. There are more than a dozen of tabloid magazines come out every week, and I know some people would buy them all to get the latest talk of the town. Many time, these stories even make the newspaper frontpage, because they know it will sell. It is very sad, many of these actors/singers couldn\'t even do a proper presentation in public (even with prepared materials). And the worse thing of all, some even couldn\'t pronounce proper Cantonese, some deliberately do it so that they are cool and stand out. These are the kinds of crap the media feed our people right now, and I think it is our younger generation that would suffer, when they following their way of talking/ doing thing.

Only thing about IQs is that the test is designed to go across a range of topics including reasoning, verbal comprehension, numerical comprehension, patterns and so on. This means that you can be a social moron but still have a very good IQ. Ms Stone for example might be brilliant with numbers, but suck at verbal comprehension. This way she could end up with a high IQ but still be a social idiot.

IQ test

On IQ test.
For folks living in western countries, do everyone take these kind of test (in school)? or it is something they do on their own if they want to (or their parents want them to)?

and are there any test question sample on the web?

I\'ve never heard of people doing them at school. Mostly I think people take them so they can feel special and lord it over the plebs. I took one once out of idle curiosity and came out above average, then again I haven\'t met anyone who didn\'t so I\'m wondering just how thick you need to be to come out average or (horrors) below average. I tended to do well on the spatial awareness questions rather than the maths based ones because I suck at maths. To be honest I think all IQ tests really prove is that you are good at answering the questions used in IQ tests. As a measure of intelligence they leave a lot to be desired.

Just google IQ test there are loads of sample quizes online.

IQ tests are silly little things when taken out of context. They work when trying to figure out which school program a child is best fit for (special needs, advanced learning, that sort of thing). That\'s what Binet originally designed them to do as a matter of fact.

When it comes to bragging rights in adults, or the old fashioned stuff like, \"You can\'t get into my country if you score poorly on an IQ test, regardless of whether or not you speak the language the test is written in!\" IQ tests are a waste of time really. Potential for problem solving skills has nothing to do with awareness, tact, manners, social skills, and all these other lovely things that we need to function properly in this thing I call \"the real world.\"

I\'m pretty sure the real world is entirely theoretical, and also a crappy reality show if you capitalize it. Most of us live in a screwed up world where our limited perceptions are the cause of great amusement for others. Actually, that sounds an awful lot like the TV show again, dammit.

Anyway, Sharon Stone is an idiot. I think that\'s the point I was trying to make. People who claim to support Tibet, the Dalai Lama and their ideals and yet fail to display any compassion or respect for other human beings... wow. That\'s ignorant.

I\'m not a fan of celebrity in anyway.....never buy any tabloid presses don\'t get duped my celebrity endorsements don\'t care...
I like films I like music I like sports but as soon as the film ends , The song finishes and the final whistle is blown I don\'t give two hoots what these people do.

I hate even more the recent way that \"reality\" TV shows have made morons idiots and general assholes into celebrities..

I hate it even more when celebrities try to look cool by representing political opinions that they clearly don\'t fully understand..To even say that this kind of disaster was Karma is just unreal.. Maybe if only the political leaders responsible for the troubles were the only ones affected she may have room to even mention it..and claims like The Dalai Llama been a good friend of hers...WTF ... as VIKEY says give them the chance to spout and they will don\'t give them the chance and they won\'t...

This is the primary irritant for me. The Left Coast is terrified of supposed \"religious theocracy\" as a form of govt; except in Tibet\'s case. They love communist ideals; except in China\'s case. They have no F\'ing idea what they believe in, unless it\'s a pithy bumper sticker ideology. Free Tibet man.
