Update. I replaced the picture with a slightly better one, although I know thats not saying much you can look at it in the link below or in the link I place in another post at the end.


Now here is something I painted just for CMON recently. Glad to say I\'m done with her so I can get back to my orc.

The picture is fuzzy. Do you have a macro setting on your camera, it has a symbol that looks like a flower.

Nice,fuzzy pics,but better than mine,I can\'t even get a shot lol I like the addition of the smaller spiders,adds to the overall menace.I gave an 8,I don\'t usually tell people what I give though as I don\'t want to colour others perceptions,I vote on the piece not the pic

That button is the first thing I figured out how to use. I use it on every mini picture I take.

she\'s kinda monochrome.. I know you said that you used 3 shades of green but the photo does not show it (nasty things them photos....).

Some ideas:
Maybe if you did something with the orifaces on her back? to give her a bit of pazzaz? Also the joints in the legs - dark in the interior layer area and bright highlights right around the edges of the chiten (like a well painted space marine armor)?

Overall, she is better than tabletop and you did play with the basing... 7.

I gave them two 7\'s. Sorry, I didn\'t mean to upset you or anything, I just wanted to help you get better pics. I am still trying to master taking pictures myself, and it is pretty hard, or at least for me. Good idea with the baby spiders, by the way.

Nice job, but I think that the black ends up seeming a little flat. Try (on a spare little spider) glazing to get some undertones of a color (dark purple maybe) and then use a satin varnish to help the chitenous bits shine a little. Get that glistening evil effect going. Pick out the eyes with gloss varnish.

Not that I\'m a photo wiz, but these are things that I\'ve noticed. Zoom all the way in and then zoom back a bit to help focus. (Do not use digital zoom!) If the pictures are still blurry, move the camera further away from the figure. You don\'t need to fill the picture with your figure. It\'s almost always better to crop out the extra than to try force the camera to take a picture of only your figure.

It \'s just that I\'ve been wracking my brains at getting good photos forever and still caznt seem to pull it off. I just really had a headache.

I went and voted as well. It looks good and I bet that it looks better in real life. I also agree that glazing some subtle colors onto its its legs and back might help.

I can sympathize with you about picture taking. It can be a pain ai nte ass. As I am no master photographer the only advise that I can give is to read the articles on this site. Do you use a photo box?

I have what I call a \"Mini Photo Studio\" I\'ll try to get a picture of it up.

and yes the black is flat. In fact with all the highlights I at first tried blending, then panicked at the results and washed them in Back & Yellow Ink, respectively. And I see where you guys are going about highlighting the leg joints.

But you know what, I\'m done with this mother (PUN INtended)! I took forever on her and I don\'t even play LOTR! ??? For the next little while my painting is solely going to be focused on warmachine armies and My Orc hoardes and when I do start painting something for painting\'s sake it will be the Lord of Change my brother got me for christmas ( I haven\'t even taken it out ogf the box except to prime it and I think he\'s getting annoyed).
