Get one on your lower back. It looks good on ladies and probably won\'t deform much.

The biggest problem is ink fading, but since the inks have been vastly improved from the ones used 20 years ago, this isnt so much of a problem today. As long as you dont expose the Tattoo to a lot of sun... that will fade anything.

The other issue is placement, is you are concerned about distortion with time, pick an area that doesnt expand as much as others, such as the back.

I\'m not going to be concerned with how my tattoos look when I\'m 80... because I\'ll be 80. ;)
Plus, you can always have touch ups to keep them sharp - my tattoo artist has done tattoos on seniors, and the thinner skin doesnt present too much of a problem.

Then of course if you ever want to work for the FBI you will have to have them removed. I heat that is much more painful than getting them done in the first place (and you\'re usually not drunk at the time).

True, removal is painful.
Most good tattoo artists will never tattoo a drunk, alcohol thins the blood and you dont want the blood to wash out the ink.

I am booked in next month for some text down my inner forearm, and I\'m thinking of modifying the aquila slightly.

If I ever want a tatoo(and I do) I want a little angel begining on my chest and ending on my shoulder. So that I always have an angel to watch my back

lol That\'s interesting...there are probably better kanji for \"femininity\" or something closer to what she probably meant to have.

I helped pay for the tat for a g/f of mine at the time (course we broke up a few weeks later...funfun), but haven\'t ever gotten one myself yet. Used to do acting, so always considered it a little inconvenient. Now that I\'m not acting, I don\'t have as much free spending money as I used to, ironically. :p

I\'ve always considered getting one on my upper arm. Either of my family mon (Japanese crest) or the kanji for my last name. I\'ll see if I can dig up any pics of either. They\'re pretty simple, but they\'d have some permanent relevancy to me, so I thought they\'d be good choices. :)

I don\'t have a photo but...

I only have the one at the moment. I\'m planning a second but everything I come up with seems to be too fine for tattooing.

Here\'s the artwork drawn up for my armband by my wife:

I had this tattooed about four years back. It came out really well and I\'m very happy with it.

The next one will probably be a small raven or bat for my other shoulder ...then I want something slightly Gigerish (bimechanical) up my spine on the lower half of my back (sounds like that one will hurt! :( ).

I\'ll be sticking with the black ink though, no colour for me! :)

I was long time considering a hobby related tatoo .....I was thinking about getting the Citadel
00_logo_150.jpg
what do you guys think?

Good thinking Margo... as female comedian once put it: \"I met a girl in the sauna, with a tattooed map of the Philippines from her shoulders to her butt... Don\'t she realize, by the time she\'s 50, Fiji will be somewhere around her KNEE?\" lol True...

@Shinji: Nice one, but I guess it\'d look best on \"not moving\" areas: peccs, back, shoulder...

For years I asked my parents to let me do a tattoo, but they always told me that as long as I lived in their house I would have to go by their rules.
Well, when I turned 18 I figured that as a young legal adult I could whatever I wanted.
So I offered a tattoo to my girlfriend at the time and she returned the favour.
Of course, it\'s on the top part of my right leg, a place where it\'s only visible if I want it to be.
Almost ten years later, my parents still don\'t know about it.
HOW MATURE! lol
