I'm offline for a month John and you smash out what, 10 miniatures? Great stuff mate. I especially like the chaos barbarian guys and Dennis's Orc :)

It's the little things that add the cool factor like the freehand energy web on the blade and the yellow hazard striping on the cable. Very cool.

Nice BAM, not a big fan of the 40k marine unique unit minis (all a bit fussy with too much pre moulded detail for my likeing) but keen to see your take on them. Always a good source of inspiration.

out of interest....do you hack up and paint your own wood blocks for the bases? or buy pre cut/cast ones?

Thanks all -yes it def is ter!!!
keile thanks for noticing the detail work. Def brings a ton if character to the model. Hairstrr I use both pre sculpted and plain ol blocks and wooden plinths. I def don't make them from scratch. What I'm a stickler for it taking a pre sculpted and then adding a ton more detail to it. That's my favorite almost all my models are based using presculpted 40-50 mm round resin display discs by "model display products! Theat is what I use as my signature or one of them. Anytime I compete they've done really well with the judges in the past . So having a few things that make pieces different and unique to my style pays off. ;)

Still alive! Voted and commented for your orc! and on the chaos guys The one in the middle with the unmasked face is my favourite... maybe because that crazy serial killer look... Those are a classic BAM looking gang! ^^

I like it, lovely little diversion from the unit. And thanks for the info on the bases too, I was a bit curious. I like to make my own wooden plinths, but I'm always a bit nervous I'm going to chop my fingers off. Better to let someone else take that risk I think :).

Wow, BaM - your work rate is astonishing. Some lovely flesh tone paint jobs recently, and - dare I say it? - a quite clean, crisp style too. Surely you've not gone all squeamish? :)

View attachment 51973Thanks all you guys. Yeah every now and then I'll picture if the model is better clean or dirty... You all know me as an effects painter. And proving dirty models can be award worthy of competitions speaks for itself..but every now and then you'll see a few clean ones.so I'm sure everyone thinks it's a cold day in hell.lol it's more of a decision. Thanks everybody. A dirty one. Not the best 3 days to complete but wanted to try some other things.

I think both clean and dirty styles look look good when done right, and this one is definitely done right :)

Nicenicenice!
Really excellent job keeping a tight look and clean scheme in what (as Hairster pointed out) could quickly become a 'busy' mini.

I think you are pushing up your "crispness" even a bit further... I can "read" all the details eventhough the miniature is full with them.

Okay so my thoughts for my frost hound Orc clan unit was a bit of a boneyard with skulls and bones underfoot along with columns and slate/ shale (this time the stone colors were painted almost entirely with pigment powders, shaded and highlight ).heres some bad pics until my Janet, my love, can take picView attachment 52026
