BaM- I just have to say 1000 apologies mate. Every once in awhile I accidentally unsubscribe from a thread on accident. So I haven't been getting any of your updates in weeks! You probably are like WTF happened to BFK? But I was wondering about you today, thinking that this guy is normally a machine and I haven't seen updates in awhile. So without further ado, I have reviewed the last ten pages I missed and here are my overall thoughts.
First, incredible that you're both getting published in WD and have been so successful on P&P. One jealous dude right here. That is amazing though bro. I really think you need to be a studio painter for some up and coming companies ( more on this later when I bring up something I've noticed about your style).
Your last projects have been very good. I think I left off with Nagash. So the Nurgle squad, while not my style, suited yours very very well. But what got me the most was that pirate. Holy hell man. I think this is better than your undead bust. Seriously it is remarkably done. If it's not scoring in the 9.5 or greater well then you're getting robbed. I'll have to check.
So when you showed that elf something about your work struck me. And it's that you are really such a versatile painter but you rarely show it. Meaning you mainly stick to rods or other dirty beastly types with nice metals and even better weathering. Nothing wrong with this at all, it's your trademark and it's made you super successful. Top 100 painters in the world. Without a doubt. But look what happened when you did a bust. It's perhaps your best piece. Then another bust comes out crazy good. Your clean elf came out immaculately good. Who knew you could do them so well? What I am trying to say is that I think you should venture into some unknown territory. Paint some Steampunk maybe. I think your skills would be PERFECT for this. Some cyborg Victorian inspector with soot weathering from his steam engine or whatever. Even a dragon or a demon from you. Just to show how incredible your skills are. What I am trying to say is that you aren't just good at a few things. No sir. You are good at all things, and the world needs to be blessed with a more diverse range of figures from you. A historical or two from you. More busts. Steampunk. And lastly, some super bases or dioramas. Sure, you might make some mistakes along the way, but I think such a daring quest to grow as a painter wold catapult you into the top 10 in the world.
Id is love to collaborate on a duel piece with you. Chaos dwarf vs dwarf? Orc vs Empire? Or maybe a fair take theme. Alice vs the Queen? Hansel vs Gretel? Think on this, I'd love to collaborate with such as you!!!
Please PM me about a question I have. Wondering how you did the skin for Goliath. It's probly been forever but if you can remember how you did it, it'd help me. Haven't decided if I want to do a gray, half dead look or a normal skin tone.
Anyway, cheers. Hope I didn't put u to sleep.
