View attachment 31796Been working on him today round the clock. I will make an impact on putty and paint and hopefully get the much deserved respect from some of the worlds best artists of miniature painting. When I paint I keep in mind that the final glaze I apply at the end of everything will tie the whole model together and not show the highest highlights that other artists do . I try to keep it lifelikeeaning I aim for subtlety to do this I have a formula to achieve this smooth gradation I apply exactly 13 very thinned glazes. Over and over the beige(my lightest color ill use never white ) starts to dissapear into the colors around it making it as lifelike as possible. I push contrasts and shadows but the glazes almost takes them away where it starts to look not like a painted model but a lifelike personality.this besides my weathering if metals and greenskuns(I weather or dirty up skin too on orks, there not very clean really) is a trademark that has bestowed some very earned success on my miniature models. Basically I want them to look less like a painted model and more lifelike in the long run.
any questions in this guys ill be more than happy to share some of my secrets to how I get the finished results on my models wether it's a bust ,a heroic scale model or even some of my 13 inch models. Doesn't matter the same techniques are used over and over. I know them so well . This combined with having a ton of free time being disabled is why I'm so fast at painting minis for my gallery , commissions , and or competition.
stay tuned folks.
