Nice bro, I love your OSL, the metallic is top notch so lovely you are truly a master at that. You inspired me to do a Necron now, add to the list...
Now we can rock the mini world with our TMM. Me and you John we going to see each other asap man I will make sure of that, maybe at CB next year or something before, can't wait to hug the shit out of you even tho your probably 2x my size, I was already a thin guy but now I look like a necromancer, I got a problem with a too high metabolism I got to eat 2700 Cal a day if I want to stay stable, 3000 if I want to gain and if I go under 2700 cal a day I lose weight. So my job is killing and I am sick of looking at food all the time, I don't have all evening to eat like a sumo I got to PAINT! my perfect weight is 150 and I am down to 135 pounds at 5' 11" LOL so yeah not body fat on me. I can drink a gallon of milk and a whole cake and I will not even take a ounce. You should she what the nutritionist wrote on the list of what I got to gobble every day so i don't lose weigh it's insane, the worst is I did it for 3 weeks eating like a pig and when I hit the scale at her office I didn't even gained a freaking pound so I said fuck it! I can't stay on my butt all day eating I got run around and earn my bread.

Watermelon look is gone! That's some fine work all over mate, OSL is heavy stuff but does wonders for the appearance.

Thanks ter and oist....it's really cool to be at a point in my painting where someone can say do this or eliminate that and you don't even have to think hey how do I do that...it's a blessing just to be skilled whereas you can say to yourself add this take away that tweak this and then say here BANG ALL DONE.

GreenOne

I paint my thumb.
Looks good, but it's unclear what the light source is exactly, is the necron illuminated by his crystal ball, or his scythe... are the green piece glowing, from the insice out ? All of these answers.? At any rate some fixes could make it more readable, it's pretty sure, but not 'effective' as it stands imo.

No it's osl as IN just the small orbs and inside it was really just a first try of osl very minimum not the scythe on the orb I'm Def not getting into it like that. The model itself according to light placement theory ,which I know very..extremely well would've ultimately ended up especially with the large scythe power weapon on the highest point of the model, the orb,the small light point generators on the helmet ,ribcage ,orb etcetera...would've ended up in a model green all over.this is why I've chosen as a test model of subtle light point just from the head helmet and ribcage this way it doesn't dominate with a green saturated model..this was not me saying I'll be 100 percent technical just a way to work in some subtle osl for more use in the future number 1 and number two to emphasize more on my trademark weathering aND dirtier up metal etc along with edge highlights..but thank you all for any feedback.

OSL is very though to really pull off to look realistic. I've seen a lot of ppl try to show OSL and so many ppl get it wrong in that it doesn't look natural (it they colour of the model has the wrong coloured highlights, or its reflected incorrectly, or the strength of the highlights are incorrect... ontop of that you need the ambient highlights which make the models look 3d, rather than flat. It's really hard to do right. my necron barge was my first real attempt at OSL as well

this is true with anything .the way I work things in is a Lil bit and very small amounts weather it be freehand or any knew trend etc this way 1 you start learning things which you never know it might be something in the future I love so much and want to use it all the time and 2 you can still include it where you stil, have it pass as a fine painted model where the other technical facets (weathering ,edge highlighting) can still be included and score well in the gallery. I find it very worth it to my eye ,after all peop,e could give advice on anything ,but as the artist I'll make the final decision.especially as a contributor to white dwarf warhammer visions ,at whigh dan harden has asked me to do a unit with the exact color scheme and felt it was well painted for a necron article in the future.so as I said one thing that I kinda see alot are certain people that always have a criticism no matter what forum they walked on to me that just if your looking your gonna want to find something lmao and at that point it's not so much the models but a very inexperienced point of view...I'll tell you epic certain people I find very funny when there's clearly a difference in standards and yet the same person throws crits and advice feeling like their the utmost authority on the craft.this my dear boy david is delusion I mean you know why I don't got on david Powells or david sopers forums because they are clearly higher standard painters IOW a comment here or there but every time kinda gets to be a laugh .I used to have a rule I might implement the rule was if your not near me in your gallery scoring kindly try not to sound like you know what your talking bout..no joke dave I used to have that rule so after working as a warhammer visions contributor and being published 6 times in games workshop material a gold demon ,a bronze demon,an Honorable mention certificate (that's 4th place) and ranked 100 on putty and paint with an average of 70.9 silver medal. I might know a tad bit bout this stuff. But thanks anyway.

Everybody is different, I am so afraid to make mistake when leaving comments, I have hard time explaining painting stuff sometimes, me I just do my best to make it look nice and having my special touch, like BAM say the artist is the final judge.
