I paint my thumb.
Well maybe it didn't involve cocaine per say, but I don't think these 'bloodlust' trances where induced solely by drum-beats and a strong work ethic either...

Great looking group. So, with Crystal Brush still three and a half weeks away, what are you going to do with all that time? Paint a couple dozen harlequins perhaps?

Well baily since you've asked I just can't sit idle so I've started 1)a giant from dungeons and dragons new line of models.but I really am going to pick up my death jester and the new harlequin ...forgot the name so 1 giant and or death jester and or the other new one not the solitaire but the other guy I'm so bad with there names by the way baily I looked at your w I p you dropped my jaw all the to the floor where it crashed through and kept falling to china...I simply love you style of painting you have a very clear command of model painting and your skillset is worth your bodyweight in flawless 50 carat 100 point clear diamonds.I said and I'll say it again if I was the judge there would be no debate you win not only 1st place but the pegaso as well along with overall winner of the 10k cmon check...not just this year but every year you enter..your painted models are chock full of amazing colors that interact so well and the cleaners and sharp style is so realistic I feel like there pics of real people in the distance...you Def know how to paintmodel, and everything else that comes with it.after crystal brush I'm hitting your w I p so hard that Ide like to achieve what you have I wanna learn more but not 10 diff artist just one and his name is david powel.sincerely david your my favorite artist in all my 25 years history and career of miniature paint....I just love them.

Wow thanks fluisterwiuld I'm really excited from all the feedback I'm getting. I'm gonna really try to keep things in perspective like baily says you can't know what the judges are thinking or who else is gonna show up to compete. I really can say though its one of my best projects for a comp and that much I am happy with. But thanks for saying that you and baily made my day along with everybody else who commented. It's in the hands if the judging panel. Just gotta get em there in 1piece lol.

Hopefully John your models will stand out amongst the rest. You have such a unique style to your painting that makes this so. Your choice of pallet for your minis is always exception and your knowledge of colour theory really shines through here. really mate its just an honor to be able to be taught by you. An artist such as yourself takes has taken so much interest in my own development that I have no words to thank you, except buy you a night of drinks so we can get trollied, merry and sing to the world about miniature painting LOL! Look what your influence has done to my painting and its not like you've given me recipies to follow, just the resources to improve me painting, your teaching technique is exceptional (or I just get you lol). You've opened up a whole new door for me to walk through and explore my own style with just a few key pointers and taking not of how colors actually work together.

I will be throwing all the votes I can for your crystal brush entries

Very very kind of you to say, Blood. There are still so many painters I'd place ahead of myself and feel like I still have tons to learn, but I do feel like I've developed my own style over the past couple years and am very happy with how my recent projects have turned out. We will definitely find some time at CB to sit down and chat about painting. I may even pack a project or two to work on.

Have fun with the harlequins and the giant. I'm very tempted to get the shadowseer and maybe the death jester too. They would be some fun relatively quick projects after CB.

Looking forward to seeing your work in person. And, unless something crazy happens, I'm predicting the barbarians will get gold.

You guys can KISS at CB :) BAM style is magic, that is what attracted me the first time I came here, I was like *%*)%*) this is cool I got to tell him, and we know the story, who cares Baley if there is what you think in your mind better painter then you, that will never change, what you need is a special touch, a touch that follows you and is your signature, a touch that when you put your model on the table is stand out from the mass, something that when you give to the judge or ppl responsible to receive your mini put it directly on the small table behind them. I am fortunate I know already I have my special touch and it will follow me the rest of my live, you can look at my old minis that each and every one one them I put my special touch and that what ppl recognize, every time I paint a mini I put my special touch, most of the time it will be something innovative, that's how I paint my minis. REMEMBER THIS ALL! Knowing all the technicality of painting and thinking about just that when you paint and your painting is good maybe but is it without essence. I don't care about freaking tech talk and I am not good at it, I paint with emotions more and that is where my special touch comes from, robots who paint or play music is whiteout essence.

second that Teronus... too many ppl these days follow the herd rather than make something special or make an effect to individualise their style. You can tell you put tons of emotion into your painting, it certainly shows. I feel my style is still developing but I am starting to find out what I excel at and painting those things I excel at end up in the miniatures I paint. BAM hasn't really shown me any technique but what he has shown me is how to let my emmotions and creativity drive what I paint and I feel my personality is starting to show in what I paint now.. Painting on the right side of the brain as John would say lol.

Yes and I further concur with my brothers of the brush...emotion ,heart, passion and whatever else can come from the heart and out our hands into a miniature....pure unadulterated passion in doing what we love more than anything ,painting toy soldiers.
