Coming to the homestretch here's where we're at. Finished the HL/shadeing and the weathering on the hazard sign piping. The more I look at these plastik kits there is nobody even close to leading the hobby than games workshop. Even though I'm partial to GW and this is my opinion I'm sure there is a bunch of folks that agree.

A quick look at the schematics for the scenic base hell be on. I went with an imperial ruin type of look. Why because I get to use 2 knew pigment powders I've just purchased.

Love the chart, Canny - I really need to check out Painting Buddah's stuff, they keep tempting me with it on Facebook.

So introducing the 3tone variant in the face of the warm warm cool yellow top 3rd of the face red the middle 3rd and the lowest portion blue green . Here is the result giving much more depth to this models flesh. Excellent tip from canny.

Thank canny!!! You come right on time with this tip, thanks so much your gold.

It really make a big and nice difference he looks more alive. Hats off for the great artist Mr John M :) Was the step on the base the circular shape you poured plaster inside a plastic lid? That is what i did with paladin's base, I used a plastic yogurt lid to mix my plaster and when the excess was dried I started to pop the crap out turning it upside down and it felt on my table nice pieces LOL

Nice graphic, Canny. I was going to suggest something similar (minus the nifty visual aid). Some subtle glazes can really help take the face to the next level, as you've seen here. Those cool glazes on the lower 3rd can help create that 5 o'clock shadow look (so avoid doing them on female figures!). And the reds in the cheeks and on the nose helps bring a little more life to the face. I usually put some red on just the tip of the nose and bottom of the ear. I'll also use some purple glazes to deepen some shadows (usually around the eyes or the deepest part of the cheek).

I put together a little face painting tutorial a couple months back and the final step is glazing. Doesn't really matter how you do everything up to that point, glazes at the end can help with almost any approach to faces.

When i saw the graphic, i thought, "yeah right". And then BAM executed the technique and it clicked and i said, "WOW". Carry on. Everyone is filling up my little cup with so much knowledge that i need to make time for painting.
