Looking good! I really like the tattoos on the arms. Nice coloring for them too.

I feel like the face could use some more highlighting. Considering the range of the shadows, it feels like you get up to the first level of highlights and then it stops. I'd take it up another two more levels. I'd focus on the very tops of the cheeks, on the nose, and then along the top of the lower eyelid. You could add some more lights to the top of the lower lip and a bit on the forehead, but I'd concentrate the brightest on the cheeks and nose. Here's my crappy photoshop example of where I'd put the lights. Maybe not quite that bright, but it makes it easier to see what I'm talking about.

Of course this pushes it towards a higher contrast look which you may not like, so you're welcome to ignore the suggestion. You know what you're doing, so use your own judgement! :smile:

A few more days of many hours and hell be finished next up the shield after that bump in the road ill tackle the frizzy he's wearing no doubt something he killed with his bare hands.

Still need to hit the upper eyelids but here's the rehighlighted much improved face your right it pops much more. However I did have to go up to off white (menoth white) to get any difference to my eyes no biggie he has warm/cool pale skin to begin whiuh. Thanks baily that was a big heads up. Just finished up so flesh beard eyes wounds and teeth along with eyeballs is done. Baily I went with further highlight yeah I know what I'm doing but let's just say you know what your doing more than I know what I'm doing lol if there is any advice ill take it from the chap with two first place trophies. So I tried it I liked it normally I don't but this time I did and I'm muchos happier that I did. So thanks a ton . Got one more place to hit the highlights eyelids and ridge of cheeks but I'm just painted out.I put him to sleep and will be good to go timorrow

Excellent! I think those extra highlights really helped. Sometimes our highlights get too spread out and turn into more midtone (just by virtue of how much area they're covering). Putting in those smaller areas of brightness help define those shapes and make it look much more 3-D. I know do that too (often on clothing), but since the face is such a focus area I'm careful to catch it when it happens there.

Of course you know, at a certain point it gets into the realm of style and preference. I may offer advice, but you've got enough experience to decide that you might not like the look I'm pushing for or the style or whatever and you're going for a different end. Just because I might like something doesn't make it right! =)

OK I am just gonna say this, You all know me I am no tech talk I hate tech talking, I get lost. Me my skills are more I know when something is right or not and I persue I can tell you a lot of stuff but it's all fluff, How I dilute my inks for my shading how I apply my paint how I paint, it's all mental calculations I do on the spot I don't paint anymore with writing notes it's all in my head. I know when something is wrong, it's like I am good at that and I think your eyes are to small, since like it's been mention before his face is the focal point and I realized right away. I have nothing to say about the quality of your painting you know bro your awesome painting machine I Just can't sit here and say nothing and because anybody else mentioned anything.

I honestly think that the dude's eyes should be this size

Yeah that's def true ter what I tried to do was have him looking down so half the pupil would show to give direction but that's was what I had in mind so half the iris should actually be below the lid line . Really what I was going for.

No no I love all the comments ter you no me we all have our own agendas ending points thought patterns and the day I stop welcoming high calibre artist like you baily canny is the day well. That day will be sad and ill probably be DEAD. From smoking I presume. But hey what can ya do.
