Photoshop isn't hard, you just need to sit and play with it for a while. It is a skill that need maintainance though, I used to be a wizard at PS, but these days I can barely do anything.

I really, really hate GIMP though. Free, yeah, but you can't find the stuff you need.

I tried to get the free version of photoshop but my Mac wouldn't allow me to download it. I'm going to try pixelmator and see if I can do anything with it. Fortunately someone on another site has given me an idea on stitching photos together. That's a big one for me to do, if I can, then let's see where we go from there.

GIMP is free, open source photo editor similar to PS. Get CS instead, it is better and won't need the heaviest functions anyway.

I learned Photoshop with a cd/book in 2000, I still used my old 6.0 version and I can do wonders with that so you don't really need the top of the art version.

Fantastic work mate. great to see some PS magic to help get things right wth proportions golden ratio and all that JAZZ. Voted. I have had a play with gimp its seems fine I cant judge as I dont know anything else.

Having used photoshop back in the DOS days and now GIMP, i would say that you would get irritated trying to use GIMP if you do not already have some sort of photo editing experience. You can crop pictures with MS products that come with a PC. I would then create the collage in GIMP (takes me forever as i do not use it that often). Now i use Photogene on the iPad, i was able to do all that and take picts from the iPad and it was like $20.

Okay so I tried using something called photoscape and let's just say :YOU ALL LIED TO ME ....EASY .....EASY ...I AL MOST ST ART ED BLEEDING FROM THE EARS,NOSE,EYES,AND MOUTH....YOU NEED A DEGREE IS MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TO UNDERSTAND THIS SHIT....ONE OF MY PIC I WAS PLAYING AROUND WITH ENDED UP INVERTED. ...YEAH THATS RIGHT....UPSIDEDOWN AND SLIGHTLY GREEN ....WTF NEVER EVER AGAIN .....I WAS SO RATTLED I ALMOST THREW THE DESKTOP ACROSS THE ROOM.....I'LL LEAVES THIS FOR THE CYBERGENIUSES...BECAUSE IM WAAAAAY OUT OF MY LEAGUE...LOL

if it makes you feel better...i am pretty sure the mechanical engineers that work for me could not make most photo manipulation software work. :) These programs are generally only easy relative to other versions of themselves. IMHO the new era of only online manuals for software makes it even harder for those new to the topic to pick itup easily.

BAM, i think you just need to convince Janet to do all your photo manipulation for you. Lol ;)

I think that's exactly where I'm headed krule.....that or the funny farm after trying photoscape....I was left with that stupid shit eating grin with my smile looking like jack Nicholson at the end in 1 flew over the kuckoos nest....
