The mods on CMON don't really talk about the system, but they've hinted at how it works. I'm not sure how many votes you need for it to kick in, but I would guess it's 50. If you think you've got a sniper, keep track of the scores and number of votes. You will notice that the number of votes will drop by one or two and the score will go up. From my experience, this happens sometime between midnight and 1 am EST.

Wings? Did someone say they want an Athenian Hoplite WITH WINGS! Lol. As for the snipers. Anyone voting 5 or less on that beserker should be banned from this site plain and simple. I don't care who the hell you are, work like that either gets good votes or just leave the voting to mature grown ups, because clearly letting your baby click the mouse is a bad idea.

I really like how the breastplate is looking on this mini. Is it between bronze and cooper?
I also like the drawings on the shield. Still wondering how you can be that productive I would be completely exhausted XD
By the way I have just visited your barbarian again and it has now 64 votes and a solid 9.3 (9.7). It is just silly that someone votes for this a 1. Maybe they are just bots messing with the voting system.

yeah it it happens alot I've been through it baily been through it ten ball usually gets it the worst and I'm sure all of you guys get it too...I don't know weather to be flattered or angry....when there are high scores it shows alot....and thunk bout it maenus there is no way of telling who does this to you me or anybody...just plain sucks.lol

this is by martin-you all know him as "bangdoll" this in my HONEST OPINION IS THE TECHNICALLY BEST PAINTER MODEL OUT OF ALL WRATH OF KINGS ,THERE ARE A FEW OTHER REALLY GOOD ONES BUT NOT LIKE THIS...I URGE ALL OF YOU TO HELP CHANGE THE COURSE OF HIS CURRENT 7.2 (7.6) AVERAGE ...THIS IS REDICULOUS..EVERYTIME.

Edit: i wonder if the scoring gets whacked in a contest. I score things like i do anything in the gallery, but i wonder if some score contests in forced ranking style. I.e. There favorite gets 10, next favorite 9, etc.. That would definately skew things.

I don't think many people vote 10, 9, 8, and on down. But, in an online contest like this, people tend to be much more critical... especially of their competition or their friends competition. At least in the last couple CMON contests the scores seem to be at least a point below where they should be (and sometimes even more). However, for the most part it seems to be done to all the entries, so the best pieces still tend to have the highest scores, even if they are much lower than they should be.
To play devil's advocate, I'd say that even though this piece is well painted, it doesn't have that wow factor to make it stand out in a competition. I'm also put off by the fact that it's mounted on a completely empty gaming base. That almost always hurts the score, competition or not. I'm guessing it was a commission piece and that's what the buyer asked for. By the way, this piece was originally from 2012, BangDoll posted a photo of the same figure to the gallery and it scored an 8.1 (7.8). I would say that score is on the low side too, but that is without any contest votes to bring it down.

I didn't even notice I personally was wowed by the technical stuff ,but a base may have put it over or even a micro art base.I could see why then.to me it's painted much better than all if I can say that lol..hope nobody gets offended all you competitors just my perspective..and I particularly love how well all the colors work.I love that type of model. Painting like the ol rackham minis.all that smorgasbord of tones..Ahh HHHHHHHH though makes sense davey.

Yeah, the painting is great and the use of colors definitely reminds me of the rackham stuff. Of the entries currently in the contest I'd say it was one of the top two, although I've only looked at the other entries briefly. It's just stuff like no groundwork that will hurt its overall finish in that contest.
And, despite what I've posted, I do agree with your original point, the score is far too low for the quality of work.

h hells yeah bails...by the way my man I went with a small sponge cut to size and then I dipped it in white primer then dipped that into some ink with p a glue and let dry then david I have to say until you said small puddle of blood I would of never ever thought out that way another great tip...I owe ya on that.
