I figure a group of Vikings probably wouldn't spend much time coordinating their outfits before raiding. They'd probably end up wearing stuff they picked on raids, so I think the differences work. If you can find or make an extra Viking style helmet, you could put it on the ground next to the guy on the right. Like he was wearing it, took it off and tossed it down there.
And, when you've got a group of figures like this, you can always use color to create consistency (along with the bases and weathering which you're on top of). As I mentioned in an earlier post, you don't even need to use the exact same colors. But, take a color from one and a color from the other, mix it together and you get a new color yet one that is still linked to the existing ones. Not a requirement obviously, but something to think about as you do the rest of the guys in the set.
