Thoroughly deserved recognition, BaM. Great work.

You could always set up your own version of GD in the US. I'm sure there are heaps of US painters that would love an award. You could call them The BAMs.

'And the award for best use of blood effects goes to....'

Thanks everybody.. You guys are an amazing bunch!!!
So now I'm working in my display movement trays it was a fairl large area so what I did was decided to tell a story a bit. I've used shields king Edward and some long and shirt handled axes each barren part of the tray has a component one of the shield will be blended inyo the tray with more snow . And me and baily seem to agree its right where I want it. Not too much , not too little. And again the tray is set in a field of bloody / muddy snow .. A battle has just ended and to the victor YHE spoils. I live this piece and lived up to my own expectations.out of all entries this is the Ine I feel most confident bout! Will you stop being so epically cool please. You're making the rest of us look bad! :p

It turned out really well BAM. I have one thought that may add to it, but I don't know if it'll fit with the idea you have in mind. But I'm sharing it anyway... A crow or two squabbling over a severed limb.

Arch it's a real idea I just don't know where Ide put it....so idea will keep that for a future use on a vignette....if you come cross any 54 mm limbs and crows get the name of the co. For me ...I actually like that idea a lot;)

No no no Arch your looking at it all wrong. You can't compare yourself to one of the CMON pantheon gods. I mean we are mere mortals aspiring to reach his level, so how can we be bad?

Great looking group.

For the severed arms, what about instant mold and green stuff and cast from the next model you make?

Yup, looks great BAM.

I really like the idea of crows/ravens squabbling over a severed limb. Might not be right for this scene (already got enough details on the base), but you should definitely keep that in mind for a future project.

I did a little bit of googling for 1/35 scale birds and found this kit from Preiser. No idea about the quality of it, but looks like it could work. As for the severed limb, maybe you've got a kit you don't plan to paint or one that comes with extra arms (a kit with alternative options). And yeah, you could just make a cast using instant mold. Since the arm is going to be on the ground, you only need detail on the top/sides so that could definitely work.

You could use a withered/zombie arm off an existing kit, half sticking out of the ground and painted with blood and Earth. Position the birds next to it, not on it, and you have the impression of a wasted corpse buried by snow and trampling warriors.

Bails thanks matey!!! Always a pleasure to get YOUR affirmation...I mean to get the words"look great!"" From a guy that has not only been the single reason that I win an award last year (his idea of a group of 54 mm barbarians) but also the reason I went bigger and better this year...and from a guy that has painted many of my favorite top models I've seen in my entire life among the "the goalie" ,the hoplite, the olomfleetfoot in milk wood forest -very creepy ,and now the favorite of them all the Samarai archer,," magnificent if I don't mind saying it again and again...and bedazzled thanks for the extension of the idea of crows I'll def be using it in the future vignettes!

Love the way the two shields are in the corner to frame the base...and everyone is looking in the same direction! Well done. A winner for sure.
