Btw I forgot one "fulgrim" the primarch of the emperors children.. He will be in my sci fi single....so 7 entries just like last year...

Phew, for a minute there I thought you were slipping. Glad to see you've got back to 7. :tongue: Well, while the quantity may be the same, I'd say you've definitely increased the quality of the entries from last year.
Thanks, I feel like the samurai is my best piece to date. Not sure if it will turn into a check winner (I've got to think that with Kirill Kanaev, Ben Komets, and Karol Rudyk showing up, they're going to be the likely winners of the top three overall spots), but I'm hopeful he'll at least get a top spot in his category. Hey, if I, as a guy who does this part time just for fun, can just make those serious artist sweat a little, then I'll be very happy! :smile-big:

BAM, great start on the space puppy, love the freehand in the cape. If you and David want more entries you can always go the Impact Miniatures booth, buy a chibi, take it to the Reaper paint and take section, spend an hour or so painting it and enter it. lol

RECIPE FOR ZABS BLACK IRON ARMOUR!!!
Base color (midtone) -any type of blue black-p3s coal black/GWs incubator darkness/ reapers deep ocean etc.
First highlight -blue black with a small amount of cool grey mixed in -space wolves grey GW/reapers ghost grey etc.
second highlight add in a bit more ghost grey to the mix.
add scratches and niks with black brown and pick out chip with silver.
glaze in a few glazes of a grad earth shade.
glaze in a guiliman blue glaze and
THATS IT BOSS!!! Instant black iron.

Gw does it again...they def produce some of the best miniatures to date..I've picked up what I feel is the best boxed set of models in the history of GW aside the space hulk boxed set....I'm talking none other than Deathwatch I believe it's called....the gene stealers are accompanied by hybrids and all other half human half alien monsters....just each one is different they are no repeats as before like in the assasanorum boxed set....all are brand new and are gob smacking....I think I'll say it now next painting competition I'll be doing these wonderful gene stealer hybrids....I bought 2 boxes at a grand total of 320.00 well worth it.

Im soooo tempted by deathwatch, the Tyranid side looks fantastic to me, and I like the classic colour scheme they went with (at least, that's the scheme I've always thought of them as) the marine side is a bit less exciting though, sadly it would be all the cash I've been saving up, if I was intending to play it it would be a no brainer, hopefully they release the sets for 40k so I can pick some up

Any time I get comments from sicks and ten ball,and zabby asking for a recipe,I consider myself doing something great..shabby your always welcome just remember to return thy favor when it comes to base work . Sucks anytime bud just throw yourself in there I've never found myself one for recipes and honestly I just went with it and was going try to take good with the bad ,it turned out better than originally what I had thought it would look like so I saved it and logged it in my diary...if you want to try it do what I did play it by ear and keep saying "all models look shitty until that final brushstroke lol" true story....when I don't like something ,I consider I'm on the right track as my fiancé will tell you that John say he hates all his models until their done then he's happy he didn't step on them.
@tenball -what can I say ,getting the thumbs up from an artist that is in plain English a chap who should have no less than 50 trophies under his belt but somehow doesn't which aggravates me cause it would be well deserved and long overdue IMHO...BUT A COMMENT FRIM THIS PAINTING GOD IS ALWAYS LEAVING ME DUMBFOUNDED...THANK YOU ALL.

Think I'm going to try it out on a stormcast, bought a box of them at Christmas on impulse and quickly lost interest in them, I know what you mean about hating minis til they are done, happens every time to me but learning to visualise the end result while working on a mini is a skill in itself IMO

Yeah I agree it's a skill I've never came close to maybe 1ce or 2ce but majority of the time is like a casserole surprise!!! Lol true story.
