Oh man, those look incredible. The bases are definitely my favorites from you ever! My only criticism would be that the way you've applied the fence sections is noticeably similar across the group. This could be 'dealt with' with the overall base structure, so maybe it's deliberate. I love the great red tones in the rocks offset with that nice creeping vegetation. And of course, the figures are stupendous!

Thanks toad it's def deliberate but they will be slightly clipped here and there. And the scenic base will have the same some climbs with degraded fencing and some not. Rem when doing units there are many ways to tie things in bones fences I picture them moving through a pantheon that's Ben ling destroyed si the way the basing will be clipped I'm still awaiting how it will be done and those forever waiting in those wolves will be a the test on how I decide to do it. Thanks bud.

Those look suitably, khornately badass. My only point of, way too late, criticism would be that to me the two slaughterpriests still look a bit too similar. Perhaps another simple change, such as weapon swap or a trophy rack, would help. Or just posing them so that they are each posed facing front, if that makes sense, to try to put focus on the conversions that way?

I most def am ready for some bad news the two slaughtered priests will only have the red armored one with the unit. I just grouped EM together here on a whim. I won't go over the 3 man unit.the one without the red armor will be finished up and based for my collection by himself.thanks so much to all and thank you ate your bananas, you guys are my golden guns.

Ah, okey then. I guess in that case it's not really of that much importance as they wont affect each other in the same way and wont be looking as duplicates :)

Yessir the main reason I'm doing this model again is Jean Marc brisset did it first using the head swap from the Khorn dude with the impaling spear. I liked his golden demon finalist entry so much I thought lemme do the same figure for my personal collection.differeces are instead of the NMM he painted ode be using TMM on mine. It really is a simple but very attractive simple head swap. But he gets the credit for the idea ;)

Some incredible painting going on here. As for new CB exits, grab your trophy (because you know you're going to win another) then cartwheel out of the room. Maybe add some sparklers to the mix, in fact, the more props the better!

So I did something different not purposely but still not in typical fashion. I only posted 1 wip shot and next ill be posting the finished model yo my gallery. So stay tuned there were loads of diff things I tried out because before CB I intend to increase my standards even more. I will be busting my ass to try and win a 3rd year in a row. The fact is I'm not a baily, TENBall, skelette a Sam lenz or James wappel. So I'm OK with the fact that I am not going to win every year but making the finals in every one of my entries is what ill be more concerned about.ive given everything I've gotten to achieve my awards in the last two years I'm ok now with losing as I've proved to myself I def belong with the highest competitors at the biggest show with the biggest prize 10,000 . US dollars . That being said I've come to the conclusion that putting pressure on myself while fun at times has also made me to rem the fun of just competing and talking to very close friends is more than enough. So hang tight my last piece for my personal collection that's not a CB entry is done and will be posted tonight. Here on in ill be trying to calmly begin my other CB entries while enjoying painting for what it is , a KICKASS HOBBY that only those who partake in it will understand how important and amazing it is to create lifelike models in micro environment bases!!! Stay tuned

Good for you, BAM. Our culture tends not to celebrate reflection, but it sounds like you've done some meaningful self-analysis and come out the better for it. On the competitive front, you may be helping yourself anyway, as I find it easier to take risks as an 'amateur' rather than a 'pro'. I'm not really referring to one's being paid or unpaid, but rather to the benefits of pursuing excellence - and you are certainly doing that - out of love of the thing itself and the joy of testing your limits. Looking forward to your update!

Sounds like you're doing the right sort of stuff, BAM. Trying out new approaches, techniques, styles, etc is a great way to continue to grow and improve your painting. Some of my favorite pieces have been ones where I tried out something new. Sometimes you'll succeed and create a masterpiece, sometimes they'll turn out okay (but at least you'll have learned a new tool you can continue to improve on), and sometimes they'll fail (it happens to us all from time to time). However it turns out, success or failure, it still helps make you a better painter for the next project.

As for CB, you've definitely got some more contenders for trophies. The nature of podium style awards means there's no guarantees, you never know who might show up. A piece that could have won 1st last year might come in 4th this time. But, you keep doing what you're doing, and you'll be in the running for awards every time you go. That's all you can ask for, the rest is up to fate or luck! :)
