Yeah besides being BEAUTUFUL models Derek in a crustal brush comp where things can be close might as well get a few points with the judges by including his models. Every bit helps
STOP IT!!! Now your tempting me to buy Blood Bowl models and I have enough things to paint to probably last me the next 3 years I especially like the minotaur from RNestudios.
ooooooo... I like the new ogre dude. He looks like he'd be fun to paint. I haven't bought a 35mm figure in a while because I rarely paint in that scale anymore, but this guy is tempting. I'll have to keep him in mind next time I'm looking for a side project.
And, of course, the painted ones look great. Nice and full of BAM weathering!
Guys I'm gonna play capt obvious here just in case people know it and aren't sure or for those who don't. Look at the new guy. Look at the first application of shading. If I'm using lets say rosy shadow as a base coat - I then mixed a small amount of chestnut brown and that is my first shade. My point is if you look at how subtle this application is its how I apply all of the shades and highlights in very minute increments this way 1) it blends much better and 2 I know exactly where to stop when I feel it's enough shading (feeling when and where to stop comes with practice =hence how many models pass through thy hands!!! It makes the results as seemlessly as possible and as I mentioned when applied thin in small color increments your blending will have much better results.
Anytime I get a comment like this from bails... It's better than winning a trophy from a tournament !!!! God bless !!! Thanks so much David. Yeah he's one of 3 from BCC and wasnt a single mould line!!!
Ok so as upset as I am you can't dwell on these things,:/ whom I kidding I'm devastated as always. We had a casualty at camp yesterday. Grommarg has be murdered by a very large serial killer named -SAMMY THE CORGI- "the great miniature hunter" .oh well that's what happens when you leave your chair pulled out on your painting desk...and a half a snickers bar...funny thing is he still must've been hungry after that so the big ogre guy fell prey to his powerful Jaws. R I P grommarg.you served your team well.
Ouch! Sammy did a good blitz, surpassed armour and rolled the dice to Grommarg's sruprise. The judge was completely blind and didn't saw anything. LOL
Sorry for that, RIP we all miss him.
Being an ogre down I was faced with buying another but as I wait I've decided I will at this point paint many models but after this tragic events its now been settled upon ill be doing just GW models so as the team expands I figured its houng to be 6-8 GW models so I light as well use the death roller as my focal model and the others are GW . So I've started the dwarf and an ork(that will be used as borage ghoul chewer instead of the very ugly forgeworld model.

Damn, man, that suuuuuucks about the ogre. Seems like you & Sammy are rolling with the punches (ok, the damn doggy bites, if we're being honest), though.
Hopefully you can at least chop up the ogre carcass to harvest some good bits.
