I only saw one stall at Euro which had it on sale and that was Frank Miniatures.. He's a German seller but his website doesn't show that bust...
Oother than that I've looked at Steve Knightly miniatures (One of THE GO TO GUYS for busts) if you contact him he may be able to help. And he is very helpful..after all he is from the NorthEast of England where the proper people come from.
El Greco are also helpful and friendly but you may be needing to look to European mainland traders.

I'll be trawlin' best i can for this too, have time thursday will let u know if any joy :) What a stonkin' bust

..ohh, thought on the eyes...no eyes! cataracts or some swirly goop like zabs suiggy, or pearlescent discs, or, or...

Ahhh, thank you Dennis! I'm gonna contact Frank Minis for sure, maybe they know whether the company's gone under or why they seem to have disappeared from the internet.

Liking this "no eyes" idea. Just, like, in general. :D I mean...on one hand, it's nice 'cause they're lined in glasses and I don't have to define them that way, but on the other they're all tucked away in that hood and I'm gonna need to access them??? It's probably not as bad as I think. Maybe she ends up with Elton John tinted purple glasses. Who can say.

BaM, I just want you to know that if you find a tiny coffin on your doorstep, I had absolutely nothing to do with it.

I got a package from a certain Chaos Spawn Miniatures today!

She looks so, SO cool, so incredibly characterful, I'm super excited to start putting on paint :D

Soooo. what kind of whiskey where you guzzling down with the diet coke? Not a singe-malt Glendronach I hope...

Digga, thanks! Hope I do her justice.

Darthmarsh, thank you! She's been set aside for a bit due to school but hopefully tonight will bring progress (since the challenge end looms and that kit is slooow work, eek).

Meph, naw. Whiskey goes down all by itself or not at all. And that was orange-pineapple juice, ahaha. It's a dangerous life I lead.

That cloak is looking fantastic, love the subtle little variations.
But those eyes, damn, those eyes... captivating...

WOW! Both those mini's are looking brilliant. The hair, the black cloak and the nice smooth red skin on the little figure are fantastic but I'm completely blown away by how good Helena Bonham Carter looks

Thank you both! I think the butt-cloak thing is one of the areas that's cooperated the most, with her fancy hat being the most difficult. I may need to rethink how I'm going about it, it just keeps looking junky.

As far as the kit, I ended up looking at a lot of ball-jointed doll faceup videos, since they seem to be around the same scale. The way those folks paint is a lot more subtle and controlled than what I ended up with, but if any of you ever need to paint a creepy-ass doll, I'd recommend looking BJD stuff up.

Also, I'm planning on going to Crystal Brush this year. I've never been, but it's not very far away and it seems like a really good opportunity. The boy, for his part, is quite excited to be playing endless Warmachine and 40k tournaments while I sob aggressively at the other entries, so I'm sure fun will be had by all :D

Awesome job on the bride so far Sionid.. I hope that I can meet up with the bunch of CMON people who are going in 2015!

Man, is everyone going to Crystal Brush? Sigh, someday.

The BJD stuff is really neat, creepy, but neat! Have you seen the Reborn doll stuff? Seriously creeptastic. On the other hand, I am sure there is some doll person looking at space marines right now saying the same thing: "These minis are really cool, but what sort of a person would go to all that effort? Now, let's see how I can get these eyes to look a little more heart wrenching..."

On the weird helmet, maybe try painting the eyes/visor thing. It might give you some focus. The helmet is kind of a big arrow that's pointing at the eyes. I guess you can't put freckles on her, but maybe a freehand floating necklace?

Khonner, ye! I'd love to meet folks.

Demi, that's pretty much how I feel about BJD stuff on the whole--I admire the hell out of the effort that goes into it, but it just ain't my thing, outside of instructing how to approach parts of this halloweeny anime kit biz.

And do you mean the front faceplate thing under the organic armor? I think you're right, highlighting it up would probably be a really good idea in finding balance. Her skin will be criss-crossed with white paint/tattoos/natural alien markings/whatever those things are, too...once I work up the nerve to do it.

Started on Chaos Spawn's ogre tonight. Still pretty rough:

Impressive work so far, but the mention of Helen Bonham Carter...Shudders.
I it's completely irrational I know but can't stand looking at the woman, something about her.....NAH!
Yes I'm aware of how completely batsh*t crazy that sounds...barely could watch her in Harry Potter movies

Sionid any joy on the H&V bust?

Heheh, well, she does have a tendency to play deranged characters, and the teeth they gave her in the HP movies are enough to give you nightmares all on their own...

No luck yet :( no response from the emails I sent, either. Weh. Ah well, not like there aren't 395849358 other things on the list of things I want to paint.

I mean just the eye slits. If you look at the box art they are green. Slap some bright green paint in there and see if it doesn't pull it together. Are you going for normal flesh tones on the Ogre or red skin? There aren't enough red orcs painted!
