Hi all,

P8200007.JPG

well I need some advice on painting light colours still... for the legs I started from a black primer, then

Basecoat: Shadow Grey (this would provide shade)
1st highlight: Shadow Grey 1:1 Space Wolf Grey
2nd highlight Space Wolf Grey

I think my problem is I\'m rushing, I get a very watery, gradient finish. Not smooth at all...

With lighter colours is it even more important to keep those paints THIN and make more passes?

I mean, good blender would answer this, and I know this is all relative to the painter, but how long what you be spending on those leg areas and shoulder pads on the SOB? I think they took me 30 minutes but I\'m a super slow painter too.

I\'m happy with the face and the hair.. I think the shade for the dark blue is probably too dark?

Also happy with the blue shade I put on the black and probably use that style from now to shade black areas.

Help! :D

no, I screwed them up and ended up painting them totally Space W Grey..

I think I\'ll tone them down a bit with some shadow grey. I don\'t like washes so much, I\'m really bad at controlling them :(

You\'re right in many ways, WingZ. I mean, I\'ve only been painting since maybe the middle of May (3 month ish), but I think I can learn to do things really quick.

Of course, this is not true haha. I need to be more patient that\'s all, if I work hard the skill will come - I think the main thing is too enjoy what you\'re doing and have fun!

I\'m gonna try and finish this one off today.

The skin was very easy because it was such a small area.

Tanned Flesh > Dwarf Flesh > Elf Flesh. Very \'Eavy Metal, then I just toned it down with a very very thin glaze of Flesh Wash!

Looking at the pic I can see some things I need to tidy up though.

Going to Tokyo tomorrow, there\'s actually a GW store there! WOoooo and I just got paid - Nooooooooooooooooo :D

SENMM?? :D I wish I had the skills to do that :) No I just use dark blues to make blacks stand out - I tried to use a shade of blue almost everywhere on the figure to make it stand out, then used white for the hair to give it some focus...

those bases are so easy to make, I can give you the recipe if you like! :D
