thanks! ots of colours in the shadin actually, but my new super-best-friend is vallejo's modelcolour 'dark red'. its the most used colour for shading on this model. but ive also used purple+black, magenta+black, and some dark browns. and some blue-black ink too in the darkest shading.
i do my best to prevent junior from using the paint, but he seems awfull interrested in these paint bottles...sigh!![]()
oh man you know xbox is the root to all worlds evil? just toss the damned machine out of the window and start sculping goddamn, i hate when talent is wasted like that
seriously, keep on sculpting. im looking forward to some wips soon!
You are very right about the xbox lol, i have fits and spurts of gaming, got the new fangled 3DS arriving next week with Pilotwings to relive some classic gameplay. I guess its all to do with balancing time spent. Dont worry, I wont be wasting sculpting talent. Its a struggle for me with art simply because I sometimes allow myself to engorge on the fabulous artistic skills of others, then I look at my own current level of work, think "damn, I have a long way to go before I can do that and get somewhat deflated about it." Whilst feeling like this can be a positive thing to drive yourself forward, it can also be a negative thing worrying about how much better everyone else is lol!!
I think the dark elf I am working on may allow me to dig out of my rut - we'll see.
Anyway - I want to tell you just how f--king amazing that rat ogre is looking, but it looks like everyone else has beat me to it singing its praises!!! Amazing colours going on in the skintone - as is usual for your work, and I think its what I like most about your stuff Skels. The Silky Smooth Vibrancy you create is something I wish I could do, the photos you have done show it off beautifully as well and let us appreciate all the nuances you have got going on. In a word - wicked!!
Keep the updates coming mate.
