sorry Kath, no rats for some time now. :)

well, finally started out that freehand banner of the horror squad. not much to show yet though but some veeeeery early wip's. as usual, any ideas welcome.
the plan is, except for the lord of change, a "big" tzeentch symbol on the lower part of the flag.

part 1 a grid to get the proportions correct sketched with pencil...

part 2 a rough sketch of the prettybird

its now the fun begins :)

Voted. You even make pink look, well, not so pink.

As for your banner - I'm going to be taking notes, since I'm going to be looking at a big swatch of cloth with my Raging Heroes standard bearers....

I love the ambition with this banner. I saw thw picture and immediately thought "surely he's not trying to do that". I will be watching with interest. Keep up the great work, I really appreciate the inspiration...

Been & voted, good work :)

And what you're doing with the banner is just awesome :-O !!
Where do you get such tiny brushes - or is it one you did / trimmed yourself?
(Certainly not a No.2, as Zab suggested to Kretcher, no? *lol*)

Hey folks!
ischa; no artwork of my own (unfortunately) i suspect the image is from a forgeworld book, codex or something (?). havent drawn much the past years, and i guess i havent that much in my portfolio.

Dun; most of the banner is painted with a 00 W&N serie7 miniature brush. man, what a change of the shitty brushes ive been using :)

anyway brace yourselves for some updates!

part 3; painting the upper body to knock in some colors

part 4; more details & sketsh the tzeentch symbol in the bg.

part 5; background swap; blue did definitely not work and made it hard to se how the other colors worked. this time a mix of vallejo smoke and black. going to paint a planetary system there later, using Kretchers tooth brush method [NOT] lol :D

part 6; more details...

part 7; fixing the dress properly. have to pinpoint the details a bit as too much will make it look cluttered...

part 8; i seeeeeee yooou... starting the tzeentch symbol, using purple to really break off the lord of change design.

thats it for now folks, the saga will continue soon i hope :)

Are you kidding me? It'd take me about 57 years to get that far, and probably about 20 discarded banners. And it STILL wouldn't look that good. I call shenanigans.

well, Trys, the trick is to get it right the first time ;)
seriously, the first step grid and sketching is very important. if the design is off to begin with it still going to be rubbish after 200 hours.

Eeeech! Well, until I saw that,I was planning on doing some freehand on my biker banner. Now, though, I think I'll snap my brushes in half and throw the bits at the wall instead. Good grief, man - how do you get these things right so effortlessly? Bwaaaaaaaaah!
