i agree with you about the plinths skels. few things annoy me like a awesomely painted piece with a distracting base. i prefer them square with a black or toned down uniform red color. as long as the grains aren't too obvious or there is some overly shiny hard coat.

demi, its for some random GD. if there are no random GD in the nearest future, its for the polish Hussar competition.
not adding much scenery though, want it clean. spikey bits and skullz though! and tons of it!

pretty sure the wooden base will be best just plain black. um. or really dark.

And I like the natural look of the wooden base, too, but I agree that it might distract too much from the minis this way...

Hey BoK i always use milliput fine white. although i havent tried any other milliput it does the trick

things is going mighty slow atm as ive been off celebrating swedish midsummer last weekend, and now seems to have a cold...
guess the champ is 80% finished, minus base and arms. images soon.

thanks for the advice on milliput. After buying some plasticard that was too glossy and wouldn't take acrylic paint well at all, I think I'll try the SkelettetS method. I just want to practice some freehand , is that too much to ask? IMO, crazy FH is what sets the men apart from the boys. Growing up, I was excellent at copying things and drawing them. I'm hoping this translates into painting things that I see as well. You serve as the inspiration for this.

My Great Grandparents came to America from Norway. So it's close to home, right? Wife is a blonde. I'd start talking about the things about modern America that I think we have lost sight of, but this isn't the forum. Suffice it to say that this looks like a great time.

Our closest equivalent is July 4th-Independence Day. But this has turned into an excuse to get black out drunk and shoot fireworks for two weeks straight. As a soldier who gets startled easily, I try to get away during this time.

ok no wip today, i had a mental breakdown yesterday. i have no time for hobby.

yep Norway is next door, you can say Norwegians are out arch enemies. basicly, they are suffering from a little brother complex and we are superduper jealous of all the oil they have. a couple of hudred years ago norway was actually a part of sweden.
I have to say Midsummer is also just an excuse to get knockout drunk. its the no1 party holiday over here, much much bigger than the national day which is hardly celebrated at all in comparison.
