I'd love to get in on this. I'm in Aust, shipping from here to US is no problem.

Hi JesterUSMC, Charity?

You're on an international board so don't necessarily pick a local one! You're painting toy soldiers, so usually people nominate a veterans/appropriate medical type of thing. But it's your project so a touch of the personal is no bad thing :) Just find something with which you are comfortable & research that it's legit!

Good luck guys. Smooth coats on zero-nostalgia plastic marine doesn't float my boat (apart, perhaps, from something nutty like the Minotaurs :D) so I won't be joining in but will follow along enthusiastically :)

Cheers, B.

Dont personaly like the mini, and i've never played RT or anything.

But i could'nt resist those holiday spirits and had to help a fellow painter with a community project.

besides, I love hazard striping and have always wanted to paint Iron Warriors.

F*ck me runnin'
I was drinking coffee when I read this, and nearly spit it all over the computer!

You thought that funny, huh? Try this.

"Every so often, one of the members of CMoN will post what turns out to be, by all accounts, an "Awesome! Cool! Best thing since sliced bread!", conversion of the 6in Forge World Space Marine. But sadly, there are some Members that can not afford the price for this little piece of history. Though no fault of their own, this piece of resin crack has escaped their brushes and saws."
"But now you can help!"
"So bid, and bid high! For every dollar that you spend will help this poor soul achieve his goal of adding to his project pile. And one day, he too will finish this modern work of art, and on that glorious day, he to can add his name to the list of the Super Cool conversion Crowd."

Ok, It sounded better in my head. But I think that you get the idea :smile-big:

see, the problem is, I have been able to afford it several times. But my Bank won't let me pay them online, and they don't take paypal, so I am left unable to purchase it!

Fail, if you want I'll buy one with my next FW order, take photos and taunt you with them daily til you've got the money and I'll send it to you, and don't think an ocean will save you if you don't pay up 'cause I know a bunch of nuts texan asians who'll do anything for shrimp rice and a fortune cookie!

Exactly how are we supposed to paint these guys? Eavy metal style or just block colors? Or with blends and zentihal light and all that? Was thinking about breaking out the airbrush and line highlighting eavy metal style might be hard with an airbrush..

I will send out instructions once we have all of the armies being done.
I don't want 15 completed still waiting for 5 people to pick up doing the last ones.

Of course it is up to you Jesterz what to do with the display. If you wan`t to keep it, do so. Its your project and I`m in regardless of what happens to it :) I just thought we were supposed to make suggestions regarding charity?
Oh, and can someone please enlight me about the difference between charity and non-profit?
That said, IF it is sold, I think donating it to CMON itself as has been suggested is not the best option. I don`t suppose the owner makes loads of money with it, but it IS a commercial site after all. It has a shop, it has advertisments, it has paying members and the auction-thingy. So no need for charity here imho.

... the difference between charity and non-profit?...

Charity is run as a business, with no income source. Examples are Churches, Church Organizations, World Wide Ministries Inc., "Feed the Children Network", etc.
Non-Profit organizations are run like a charity...LOL. They run businesses, and proceeds go to programs for the needy, they do NOT make profits for their members,
AND most importantly, they pay their workers, AND report ALL income, and PAY TAXES (in most cases)!!

So there you go.

I've decided to do the three BLACK legions, so we just need two more, and someone to do the second (9th) "Lost" NMM/SENMM Legion.

ANYONE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I'll even take volunteers from those that are already involved. Anyone willing to do a second fig?

I'd second the rape victims charity. Decent reasoning behind it given the controversy the said piece raised, also one close to my heart.
My 2 pennies though, i'm down with the final choice whichever way the ball rolls in favour. Last thing we need is people arguing over who to give the proceeds too, given the spirit of things lol!

I can do a second if you want. These cookie cut little bastards aren't incredibly time consuming.
