Hi all. It\'s been a while since posting anything new here but this is something I just finished up yesterday. It\'s an insectoid bounty hunter that uses a needle gun with bombardier beetle ammunition...like a bug musketman.

It\'s one of those concepts that I thought would be fun and different but so far has not really appealed to anyone, in terms of the figure itself. The safe thing when producing minis is just to make semi-naked female models. They always sell well regardless of the detail level. It\'s just the nature of things. It\'s probably time to get back to producing female figs, but I just thought the bug dude (called a Clal-chk) would be cool. Maybe not, but that\'s okay.
The painting was done from black primer, which has always been the best for me. I have been starting with white primer for the last few figures and the results just are not the same. I\'m not sure what it is, but the \"feel\" of the models with white primer ends up lacking.
The base coats are light colors for the most part, green ochre (Reaper MS color), bone, etc. Most were layered on, then glazed down with darker sepia, purple and umber shades, then built back up to the highlights. Everything was \"light sourced\" with the light assumed to be at the top left in the pictures, so shading and highlights were all done based on that.
I\'m happy with how it turned out, paintingwise, so I hope the overall imagery (paint, sculpt, photo) all looks good.
cheers,
Eric
