Yeah, I don\'t really know what they are thinking.... for that much it better plug directly into my eye.

There will always be high-end hardcore gamers, but I think Nintendo is going to own, pwn if you will, the casual gamer market in the next cycle.

That controller looks like it\'ll take some getting used to, but it\'ll be fun once your used to it. Apparently, there is a rumor that you might be able to plug your gamecube controller in. We\'ll know once it comes out.

That has already been approved. You will be able to use the gamecube controller with the Wii - I\'d have to watch my E3 video sagain to give you a direct quote, but I\'m sure they said it would be possible.

60-100 dollars for games... istn that what they already are? (unless ur running steam)

Here in Germany you can expect to pay about 30 - 50€. I seriously doubt that you Americans and Canadians pay more, especially since about half of my collection has been in America or Canada ;)

Oh, and another little nibble: It seems that Sony has registered a trademark for \"Poos\". Haven\'t verified it though... but then again, they ripped off Nintendo\'s controller idea, why not rip off stupid names? :D

For the games they end up discounting, we pay about $15, i.e. Platinum Hits series for the Xbox. our normal game range for the consoles is about $40-$60. $60 for the 360 games and the cheaper games that aren\'t of the best sellers are often just price drops. One game tops \'em all out of expensiveness, Steel Battalion, $200 because of the game and Controller. lol

and Brits are shafted always. lol

Heh, I built my PC and still paid over $2000 for it, and to top it off I had to build a second one exactly like it for my gamer wife.

That\'s why we even refer to ourselves as \'Rip-Off Britain\'. Access to the internet has changed things slightly...Although my PC is/was expensive, it has easily paid for itself by the money I have saved through online purchasing.

What a rip off! How can they justify such pricing? I mean, really, that\'s just rediculous. But, then again, I\'m cheap. Hubby has a PS2 and we really have no intention of upgrading or buying an Xbox or anything else. When a new game comes out we usually wait a few months and then look for it on the used shelf at local game stores. The store guarantees the game to work appropriately, and we usually pay less than half of the full price for it. It\'s not worth an extra 30 to 40 dollars just to have it as soon as it comes out.

They say \"it\'s just like a PC, you can customize what it comes with.\", still, that\'s not really a justification for a stock one being $600. The Wii looks like it will be the runner of the casual gamers market and will turn a very good profit because of a lot of people like the control design and it is made by a reliable company and will have Twilight Princess at launch. (supposedly)

Zelda rules.......It\'s certainly going to be an interesting battle. Sony has become such a well known brand name now that it will still probably win out. Guess it\'s down to the games that come out. Sony have the confidence of a lot of game developers to sell well worldwide.
Guess it\'s a different market for the buyers now.
When I was younger my dad or mum had no interest in any kind of computers (they never had em) so couldn\'t justify spending any money on them. The difference now is me and my partner love gaming. So the little one will get what he wants as it\'s not just a toy for little un but for mum and dad too.

I think personally, it\'ll be another dreamcast story, does well in japan, but almost nowhere else, everyone who I talked to said that they thought that this was pure idiocy that they thought that their fans would go to that extent.

P.S. I do like sony and the proposition of Killzone and all the features they are offering, but this seems like they are trying to milk everyone\'s last dollars, not even bill gates is pulling that one.

Officially, Sony justifies the price by saying \"It has a Blu-Ray Drive\" and hinting at the fact that the console is already expensive to produce. Which, to my mind, is pure bullsh*t, because I as a consumer don\'t care about their problems.
Sony even has the gall to say the console is a great bargain and priced too low, by the way.

No matter, it\'ll be a Wii for me, thank you very much, and I severely doubt I\'ll pay more than 250€ launch price. I actually expect to pay about 200€, because that\'s what EVERY Nintendo console has cost at launch....

Every game console that I have ever studied was sold at a loss to be made in game sales. The PS3 at $600 is a steal considering at last estimate it was going to cost $900 each to make them. Nintendo will never rule the game market until they learn about a simple thing - backwards compatability. The PS3 will run even the original PS1 games. Every incarnation that ninetendo puts out makes the old games obsolete unless you have both systems. The PS3 allows you to keep some of the old games and not have to dig the old system out too.

I just got a PS2 this last week.
I\'m not going out for a PS3 anytime soon.
I\'m quite happy being nearly a decade behind the times.

My pentium 2 still does me just fine, too.

I think the Wii will run Gamecube games, plus I think you can also use the gamecube controller with it

I\'ll definately be getting one of those. The new controller is quite a risky shift in gaming, but I have faith in nintendo to get it right. Incidentally, this kind ofcontroller was initially planned for the gamecube, but they weren\'t quite happy with it so they went for something more conventional. Hopefully this means they have finally got it to a level they are happy with

Welcome to British pricing!

I\'ll get one eventually, but not in the beginning - i\'ll wait till the price drops.

I\'ll certainly not be getting a Nintendo, that\'d be against all my morals. I was always a Sega fan and now Sony - Nintendo are the enemy!

I actually managed to resist the PSP until a week or so ago, but they are fantastic!!! Might have to buy another in case this one breaks. Effortless wireless interconnection (unlike the XBox 360) superb graphics and great sound.
A thoroughly wizzo piece of kit:D

EDIT: Hah! Caught you pre-edit!:bouncy:
