Soum 13 moons

It's looking good. I like the texture you've given the ground. A design would have been cool, but finding one the doesn't take over the whole scene is not easy. The dark color makes it feel like she's sitting on top of a dried lava flow.

Thanks for checking her out, I appreciate it. Her legs are really the only thing I don't like about her, they are just a little thick in the ankles making them appear soft. I played around with a bunch of different things for the floor but they all stood out so much, even a shadow type light design was sticking out too much. I plan to have a lot of stuff in the room with her that will be all over the floor so you may not have been able to see it anyway. Thanks PMB, I am glad you like it, it something really fun to paint.

I was to suggest a monochromatic design, but sounds like you tried that. Any ways this is a joy o watch unfold as usual.

Thanks KB, I tried it all. As I sat there last night trying to think of a way to incorporate Royo tattoos into the scene it struck me. Since there is already another Royo girl that has been released and supposed to be more in the future my imagination came up with a story line. What if these girls that Royo created are actually looking for him? Kind of like he has been kidnapped and the very girls that he has created are now his only hope for rescue. Soum is the first of them, she has stumbled across the secret location of his studio only to find out he has gone missing. On the floor, there are his canvases scattered, planning her next move, she sits on the bench in deep thought.

Here is the progress from last night. The freehand on the canvases was a lot of fun. I've also attempted megazord's technique for plate steel with mixed results. Let me know what you think of the scene.

Interesting idea! The diorama looks great. The parchment is particularly awesome, as is the texture of the floor.

Very interesting idea about having a narative going on over several miniatures.

Where did you buy the model? I am a pretty big Royo fan.

Thanks guys for following along. We shall see how the story unfolds but Hopefully the Royo girls will be able to rescue him in time.

Marj, I got them from nocturnamodels.com.

The maps are very cool. When I saw the first pict I thought it was on a leather sheet. I like the concept you are headed for. Good work sir.

Nice work. I'm really digging what the canvases add to the scene. It definitely gives the base some more visual interest without overpowering the figure. And it will be a fun story to continue with the rest of the series.

Thanks KB and Bailey for the comments. The canvases turned out much better than I thought and fill the space perfectly in my opinion. I have continued work on her by adding in some paint brushes and doing little touchups here and there. I am also working on a cat for the background to add to the feel of the scene. I have also started on the second girl, Luz..she lives in New York and that's where we will be picking up on the next chapter of the Saga.

You move fast! Mine is still sitting in the box waiting for me to do a review for PlanetFigure. It looks like you're doing texturing on her clothing similar to the box art. Any chance you'd want to share your method?

Keep up the good work.

I am moving a little fast on them. I am glad you're doing a review of them for PF. The texture on the clothes is easy. It is building the base, highlite and shadows with a ton of thin lines and cross hatching. If you look at Soums leather legging you can really see it.

Man every time I see Milosh working on another fantastic female sculpt, I want to drop whatever I'm doing and find one of mine to paint. But I really need to stick to my New Year's resolution and finish the minis I've started. We'll see how well that goes. Awesome work as usual milosh.
