Soum 13 moons

Luz is looking really good. Are you going to do anything more with her base or leave it as is? I don't think it needs anything else, but you got so involved with Soum's base I wasn't sure if you were going to do the same for the second figure in the series.

Nocturna better hurry up and release some more figures in this line. Otherwise the artist may never get rescued!

Thanks guys for the comments! Bailey; I think I am going to leave it as it sits. That building top didn't really lend itself to a super complicated base like Soum's did. I keep watching for Nocturna to announce some new ones but they have been silent.

Thanks again. New pics coming soon.

Yeah, aside from making it a bigger/taller building I don't know what you can do to that base. Even then matching the stones would be tough (for me at least).

Nocturna has a teaser up for a bust. Based on the image it looks like it could be of Luz... though that graphic might just be a placeholder. I'm not sure how you'd fit a bust into this storyline... but if anyone can figure it out I'm confident you can.

Luz has made her way to the top of the city and is scanning the streets for any signs of her creator.
She has heard a faint cry for help. Could it be Royo?
Or just another helpless lost soul of the city.

Bloody Hell Milosh! I was wanting to save some money this month! (Nocturna you say.)

If anything I would suggest that the base needs some echoing browns.
If it were me painting it I'd be tempted to use Water Soluble Oils placed in the masonry joins at her foot level, and then saturated with water to allow them to flow "naturally" around the masonry.
It's a practice I've used on Rock faces to my own satisfaction and a Finalist Pin.

I did build the base out a little bit to cover the display base. I used some bricks from Verlinden and some stones that I made from A+B putty. DR; yesir it's Nocturna, go get ya one, I'd love to see you paint her. There are some browns in the stones the same as her cape and leggings, my pics from the phone are just really bad right now.

Here's a little update on her. Sorry for the blurry pics.

Thanks PR, I appreciate you taking a look at her.

Well it appears that the girls aren't the only ones looking for Royo, a more sinister charachter has appeard on the scene. Royo shows many monsters in his art and they have always hated the fact that they were chosen to be the ugly wicked ones. This particular monster is out to exact his revenge upon his creator, no place is safe from his fury.

The eventual plan is to show him in Royo's studio just as Soum has left to meet up with Luz in NY. The trick is going to be trying to re-create Soums base. We will see how that goes.

Here's the progress on him from last night in three steps. Lots to do and I need to stick with the grit of the painting to match the Royo style.

Thanks Alexandra. This is also my first monster to paint, so there will be lots of fun things to try on him.

Looks very cool. He's got kind of a rancor vibe going for me. I'm looking forward to seeing him trash the studio. Who makes him by the way?

Thanks Bailey. The box says malestrom games but now it is mierce miniatures. I found this out because he was missing his left arm when I bought him from the gaming shop near my house. I went to contact malestrom but it said mierce owns them now. I sent mierce an email and they got a replacement off to me from the UK. It came in pretty quickly too. I was very pleased with their service.

I think it is going to be fun building that studio again, but this time as a wreck. I just have to remember the colors I used for the floor.

Looking good sir ! face reminds me of nemisis from the resident evil movie

I thought the same thing :) Looks great. I love that everytime I look around the WIP section i'm always inspired to push my own boundaries more after seeing the great work others achieve and this is certainly no exception. Really like the feel you get from the different textures and tones on Luz. Great thread that I will def be keeping one eye on

Sir this is quite the change up for you. The nice paint job so far really has his skin look like very tough hide...too tough to kill!

Others have already mentioned, but I'm really digging the brush-strokes you used for texture. I also love her hair, I always have such problems with white and the depth of colors you've used looks awesome.

Whoa, when did the cloak texture occur? Awesomely well done? However, I am not sold on the texture of the sword blade.
