Spasm Warrior

Another One! Im in a real painting mode at the minute, so i better make the most of it!

A Spasm Warrior from Rackham, another i picked up in Rome.

Iv tried to be really experimental here with two brand new techniques to me.

First is blending with more than one colour, usually i blend with different shades of one colour but iv tried using greens and browns to get the same effect.

And ice and snow, iv really tried to create a windswept icy look on this mini, and i reckon it has came out very well for a first try.

thats nice, the brown/green is very striking, makes him look worn, maybe a few glazes of red on the faceto simulate the coldness?, also, do spend some more time on the straps of his axe, they seem sortof blurry

Excellent work on this, matty. Even before I read your description I thought he was covered in snow and ice. Definitely gives him a cold feel. Voted.

Well at least he looks cold without the description! :D

It really was a first trying to create the environment on the miniature itself and not just the base.

I never thought about a colder skin tone on the face, good point, I might go back and do a couple of glazes sometime to add to the effect.

The straps are tiny and were a real pain to paint, they arnt that blurry IRL, but my photo skills arnt to good, plus there is ice on the side which you can\'t see properly on the photo. But i admit i didnt take as much care on them as say the cloak.

Cheers for the votes.

I would keep the ice/snow confined to the bottom of his cloak. It makes the mini to messy looking if you put it everywhere. Not job tho, did the vote thing.

Like this, some nice stuff. I also agree with the comment about the snow on the mini- in this case less is more. Just a bit around the bottom of the cape would have worked better IMHO.
