Spore Mine Group

Just wanted to show off my first attempts at lava effects and jewels, although being me, I couldn\'t do anything normal.

Now, I picked the best from each type and because its required to beg for votes (kidding!), here\'s the links to each:

These are taken from the Macragge set. I picked it up just to see what all the fuss was about playing. I was happy with how fast it played, but think I\'ll stick to painting. Just don\'t have the gaming bug I suppose.

In the individual piece page, I go into a little more detail. But the gist of it all is that I used a lava effect for the exploding spore mine and jewel effects for the other two. This was my first go at both techniques, so I\'m happy with the initial attempt. The acid one was especially difficult since its not a nice normal jewel-like shape.

Anyway, thought ya\'ll might enjoy it.

Nice paint jobs. Some of the bases could use some work tho. They are a bit plain and on at least one I can see unpainted sand.

the poison one is my favorite, kind of have a cool shell-like look like a water snail.
I think the lave ones need some more color gradingfrom very black to almost white in the center af the lines.
Over all a good job wich got from 5-7

Yeah, I was going to try to work the lava a bit more. Probably should have gone in and painted some black in the center of each shingle.

I\'ll probably try to work the bases on the next group of minis from the set. I\'m a bit limited on materials at the moment. I scraped the sand off the apartment parking lot! Everything else is in storage for another month and a half.

Maybe I\'ll go scrounge around outside some more. Probably add some small rocks and maybe something organic to the next batch.
