Thanks for the comments on Squarg. I'm really very pleased with how he turned out and I feel that I managed to progress my painting technique on him. However onwards and upwards (I hope) as I've lots of free time this week I've cracked on with the next project. The Uncle John Bust from Infamy miniatures.

Love the texture on the hat. You have gave yourself a challenge with the light source.

I've made some more progress with the Uncle John Bust. Lots of fun painting the clothing and dirtying it up and I've done a bit of subtle tweaking on the flesh tones. I think there will be a lot more tweaking as the mini develops and the overal colour palette comes together. The purple shadows are 'interesting' to work with but I need to get the red jacket painted in order to resolve a few of the shadow areas.

The lighting on the buttons is pure quality. Dave you are really setting the benchmark mate, the contrast, colours and blending are just superb :good:

The tie looks great! I keep leaning towards doing some blue with lavender/purple shadows but haven't been able to take the plunge just yet. As you said teh red jacket is going to be a factor but it should look just like the red is reflected in his satiny blue tie. Ten already mentioned it but that hat is really setting the tone for this guy. Love the texture. Great sculpt too, huh? Also the pin stripes on the shirt and reversed in the shadow are pretty good too. (F@#KING AMAZE_BALLS!@)

Sproket I think you might be getting a little faster too.
