Every time I see your finished projects, I get the urge to burn my brushes.

This is an absolutely stunning work. This is my first post ever on CMON -- after reading the full length of this WIP -- as well as Tenball's, AndyG's, and BloodAsMedium's. I just wanted to reach out and thank all of you guys for posting your WIP's. As a beginner, and getting a late start in life to this hobby, I've been able to gain a lot of wisdom, tutelage, and advice from reading through these threads (and a few laughs to boot). It’s great that you’ve all generated such a ‘wealthy’ community for the hobby here on CMON.

Tenball, Sproket, AndyG and many, many many more of you (can’t name all)– thanks for sharing! Sorry for hijacking your thread here Sproket, but I really felt compelled to get a thank you out to all you guys in the community and I think pretty much every one reads your thread ;).

Someday I hope to work up the nerves to post my own WIP here as the advice that gets doled out is truly better than what I can get at home – “that looks nice, hon” is about all I can ever get from the wife. But I am an old guy (perhaps not as old as DR =P) and I am too shy, nervous and ashamed of my own stuff just yet. I’ve only been painting for 1.5 years but I truly love paining minis!

Thank you thank you thank you!

AndyG your painting of the Hindi Elephant God (sorry name escapes) is simply one of the coolest mini’s I’ve ever seen and my favorite on CMON.

PS – thanks again Sproket for letting me post here (as if you had a choice) =P

Welcome, Boguz! Yeah, there are lots of great people and resources on this site. By the way, since I see you're in PA, you really should check out the MFCA show near Philly. It's every May and is one of the top figure painting shows in the US (in my and many other people's opinions).

Okay, back to Sproket... amazing amazing work, yet again! So many interesting techniques and ideas in this piece. It's definitely an inspiration to the rest of us!

Yes, I missed the MFCA show this year as I am a relatively new dad and the show was over Mother's day weekend -- hopefully I can win that debate next year, the show is very close to me. I will start a WIP when i get the courage up. Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks for the comments Guys, I really appreciate all the encouragement, observations and sugestions I get from you! Without a doubt this forum has played a big part in helping me develop and grow as a painter.

Welcome Boguz!
Two things:
1. Be very careful how you define 'old guy' some of us are at a sensitive age - just saying.
2. This is the place where you never have to be too shy, nervous and ashamed of your own stuff!
