Great job there 27 years, I should go one time to compete. It has been the competition that started me to try and paint better but I have never visited it. Perhaps next time it is one of the bigger events I will go, also nice to meet some of the people here in person.

Still find it hard to fathom your painting method out, would be fascinating to watch your workflow and process of paint application.

Quessing it is a general barely there layer of paint stippling approach or a miniscule dot by dot approach.

Irrespective of the how the hells and WTFs though....it looks bloody incredible.

It's really well executed, but I think you need to develop your own style and stop copying Andy and 10 :p

That's sort of it although it's more of a barely there glazing approach mixed with a miniscule dot by dot approach. I just keep at it untill I'm happy with the result.

Speaking of which the basing has been an 'interesting' (meaning traumatic) experience. Just when I thought it was about done I realised that the overall composition looked very clumsy from some angles. To cut a long story short I've decided to rework the base. This seems to be something of a habit with me!

Not a single blade of grass out of place (I checked)

I'm not sure you need the praise, but I'll continue to pile it on regardless. Incredible work!

Nope, you ruined it. :sarcastic:

Just finish it up, send it to me and start over. Don't despair - the second time around will be faster

thanks for the insight Sproket, whatever you are doing....it's working. Genuinely next level piece that reflects your pretty unique paintstyle. Fascinating to watch this come together as always.
