Thanks for the reply sir, very comprehensive.

Mole's base is looking awesome ! How did you do that neat lettering ? Masked and airbrushed ?

Gutted I won't be able to make it Salute, at Toy con that weekend instead, however if I can get away early I would love to come over and see the display.

I drew the label up in Adobe Illustrator then printed it out. The print was mounted onto plasticard with dilute matt varnish and then aged down and over painted with inks, washes, sponging and a bit of splatter.

Taking Mole to Salute? Can't wait to see the base in its entirety. I love your bases and the last Steampunk one, Chee Chee, was incredible.

Yes Mole will be at Salute along with Uncle John and Squarg. Chee-Chee will also be there having a day out on the Infamy stand.
Mole's base is more modest than Chee-Chee's. I had grand plans but they didn't suit the miniature one little bit! Mole looks much better standing proud on a relatively clear base.

Again, thank you for the comprehensive reply. Am gutted I won't be at Salute this weekend as attending another show the other side of London and can't make both. Next year I'll make sure I'm there. Good luck in the painting competition.

Thanks!
Salute is a great (and huge) event. The day seems to go very quickly with the painting comp, stands, games and socialising making for a busy time. Then again Toy Com doesn't sound like too bad a way to spend the day either.

With Mole having made his appearance at Salute, it’s high time I posted the finished pics. I had planned to post them last thing Friday but I was busy all day making some adjustments to Squarg's base - that was very nervous work! By the end of the day, I was shattered and just needed to turn in. Equally yesterday was a long day, and I was in no fit state to post anything coherent when I got home from Salute. So apologies for the delay but here he is - the finished Mole.

Mole got First Place in Science Fiction Single Figure.

Uncle John made it through to the finals and to my utter delight Squarg got First Place in Fantasy Creature or Vehicle. But that's not the best of it because Squarg also won Best in Show! Needless to say I'm a very happy bunny.

I'm planning a blog post with my thoughts and feelings about Salute 2015 and an update on Squarg.2 in the following days.

Base is very appropriate for the mini. Looks like he just demolished someone's house.

WTH man....BoS??? Good God, you have quite the résumé now. Embrace it! Didn't think you'd be competing with some of those minis at Salute. I thought their entry at previous comps DQ'ed them but I'm glad to hear that isn't true since we all knew the Squarg deserved some recognition. Best of Show and x2 Slayer Swords?

....can I have your autograph?

Well deserved win fella and absolutely stunning work, every little detail you got into Mole with all the texturing makes him incredible. Only wish I could have got there and seen him in the flesh.

Yeah! Nice work and congrats. I think that was the kind of show where your stuff was well received as it's a bit more off the wall. I am starting to see that certain shows cater to certain styles and genres. Salute seems to be more open in terms over just about everything. Given the level of the comp I think you should be very very proud :)

Yeah true Steff! Lovely work and a nice base to boot. Also it was good to see Squarg get the recognition he was due.
