Thanks for all the well wishes guys! Fingers crossed I seem to be recovering much faster than last time and have regained a fair bit of movement in my arm. At the least I'm able to dress myself properly again!
I thought I'd take the opportunity to catch up on my postings so here are some pics of the first two plaguebearers to be completed. I'd made a good start on number three before my shoulder stopped me from painting and there are a couple more at the early prep stage. I need to sort out a hero, musician and standard bearer but my ideas are coming together so they are (sort of) in hand. I've a few bits & bobs on order for the base and a good supply of heather roots picked up in Cyprus this summer so my plans for a corrupted forest setting are also coming together.

I'm very pleased with how these are turning out but I've been painting Nurgle minis for a year now and the novelty is wearing a bit thin! I've decided to take a bit of a break from the plague bearers before I become sick of the sight of them. I'm going to work on something completely different for a while (although it will be green). Then I can return to 'project nurgle' with renewed enthusiasm.

Closer in that he has green skin but no.
It's a fairly obscure bust although I've seen a few painted versions of it online.
There is a nautical theme to it.

I'm glad that you seem to be on the road to recovery.
Those plaguebearers are just wonderful. I like the neat, vibrant take you've gone with. It's amazing to see your work - thank you for sharing it and for the inspiration.
I discovered Nurgle models for the first time about a month ago (as in I picked one up to paint - only been at this a few months
) and had so much fun with it.

Bingo! It's Commodore Borgossa a really beautiful sculpt and the cast is near flawless. I've had this bust for over a year now and I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in. I'm going to see if I can paint this one in a much less 'cartoony' style than I usually do.
Confession time ... I've actually started working on him already! My shoulder has improved at a remarkable speed which makes me feel like a fraud, but I'm not complaining. I had about a week where I couldn't paint and that was quite enough for me!
I'm loving this bust more and more as I get into painting him. Getting the contrasts right is an interesting challenge at this scale as not enough looks flat & boring but too much and we are into the 'cartoony' zone.
The pick below is from my first session (about 4 hours work) I've moved on a bit from this with more work on the texture & contrast.

II'm glad your pushing through bud and getting some painting done...your strong you'll heal...and btw this bust which I've done is just ,again,an amazing piece of extrordinairy ability and talent as always..mine looks like crap next to this and it's not even funished...honestly david ,you can pull off anything with a paintbrush.your an innovator and a revolutionary whose given so much to this hobby and so much inspiration for lesser yet aspiring artists like myself and thousands of others.thank you.
