Me too, plus, I didn\'t want my one hundredth post to be about the Political Correctness of the Orgasmatron. see thread on important research. I hope Tammy forgives me, it is tough being scorned by someone you really admire.

Well, IPM, you aren\'t tainted by the deceiving happy glow nostalgia that causes Gen Z\'ers like me to see \"Star Wars\" as some sort of Citizen Kane with lightsabers.

I\'M DARTH FOSTER KANE!!!

Spoiler on the CITIZEN KANE Star Wars movie.....Rosebud is a landspeeder.

I too remember the summer of \'77 and the phenomenon that was Star Wars...It is hard not to wax poetic about what that whole franchise did for the movie business...but....

Those are pretty big shoes to fill. Audiences have gotten increasingly sophistocated, and expect so much more than what the whole franchise started on.

The newest of the Star Wars movies all have scenes that make me cringe because they are so badly written, but they also have elements that are very intelligent and exciting.

I think I\'ll go into this next movie expecting a level of cheese....;)

I remember thinking I was going to die before Empire Strikes Back was released - 3 years is forever when you\'re 17!!! :D

I\'ve been a bit disappointed with the new films, but they\'re not hopeless. It\'s hard to keep up the level of enthusiasm after 25 years, and I\'ve seen so much other great stuff since then. Nothing can ever replace the awe of seeing the first film for the first time.

The Incredibles, OTOH, was incredible. Best superhero film yet. An extra bit of fun for me: Mr. Incredible works for an insurance company. I work for an insurance company. And the week before I saw the movie, I wrote an insurance policy for Pixar.
