alright so im done, the pics show a bit better on this guy but they might be too small *rolls eyes*

i like how the nmm turned out, the gold IS different on the hilt and trim, im unsure which i like more so i kept them, the skin is visable but only really in close because they have dark skin

The Gold looks great,
I\'d go with some more highlights on the purple and the sword though.

now ive discovered the proper amount of contrast after seeing some top quality minis in person, and i should now be able to do things better while keeping my dark shades

i should be painting a lot soon, so i hope to cure the contrast issue i had

thanks(ainu too) ;)

just curious if anyone thinks this is better photo quality than before? its with a new 6.1mp camera i just bought(kinda, i havent paid for it yet :p)

i think the blue shows up better, the skin still reflects a bit of light...ive begun work on the wings in fact i think one is done(the webbing that is) i want to get a bunch more done before a photo update because i know i drive people crazy with my 7483480 WIP pics :p

i want to know what you think about the silver on the helm? (ive done the cords in his midsection silver as well but after these photos) its nowhere near done, but does it look out of place? there will be a bunch of freehand on the helmet and throughout the upper body armour i believe as well, so the silver will be toned down, but im unsure if that will be enough to make it work

.... I have great respect for your work starks.... But that helmet on the demon looks absolutely ridiculous. The paint job looks good so far though.

Try to mimic the armor plating technique that is on his legs and arms and it will fit in better.

***i agree, its what i get for changing the plans of doing GS detail work to keeping it plain and doing freehand...im hoping the freehand adds more complexity to it and adds the character i wanted

as to the \"armour plating technique\" im not sure what you mean

also do you think i should go ahead with freehand on the helmet? would it make it look better?

thanks

I was referring to the gold bordering that is on the legs... if you could incorporate that into the helmet it would look better.

**ok, good, you had the same idea :p, i started doing some gold freehand \"trim\" in the shape of the Tzeentch flamey dealy

im also thinking of doing the twirly things seen(somewhat) here:

Tzeentch picture

but im unsure what colour, as i kinda wanted them subtle and all over his armour, however i can pass on them, and try something else on the helmet if the freehand isnt enough right now

*ill take a pic and post it in a sec

ok...heres the pic--->

thanks!

*ugly image edited out :)

hows it look EP? better?

im curious as to how it looks now? i will continue the freehand onto the blades a tiny bit, and then maybe do some runes on purpley

i might also do freehand on the shoulder pad that will be on the missing arm(he wont have a shoudler pad on the weapon arm, it was torn off), should i do it anywhere else?

*NOTE none of the gold is finished, anywhere, so it will look like one coat...because it is!

:p, thanks, i really like the Felix im doing over white primer, he is by far my best improvement i think, the freehand was just me buying a W/N series 7 (000) brush, it pretty much guaranteed nice lines and easy erasing :p

i find it very hard to keep midnight blue, midnight blue when highlighting/shading, its tricky always wants to change hue, im not fully sure how to keep it purpley yet

ive been using the DP as a practice model, ive redone the blue and skin 100 times, until i started to get the contrast right, i can blend but i always lacked the right contrast

now im practicing freehand on him, and i plan on doing something to the wings to make them not suck :p

thanks!

***i decided to blend it a bit more after, i also added a bit darker shading(more blue) and i did the trim white

i cant figure out what colour to do the armour, the colour scheme is white orange and purple, but the robe is going to be purple, i suppose if i did the armour white i could do the weird designs in purple...hmmmmmm i like that actually...why do i always solve my problems while im posting?
