Granddad!
Thanks,
got a bit more contrast done on the teeth tonight, and played around with the eyes a tiny bit
think I\'ll take some pics before I gloss them this time, should show the color variations better

Granddad!
got a bit more done over the weekend
here\'s a few more pics
Teeth

Did a load of faffing around with the eyes, I thought giving them a coat of matt for the photo-shoot would help, but I\'m not so sure. Especially this close up, anyway

Right eye

and with a coat of Gloss

I\'ve also put a few of base colors on, here and there, just to sort of bring it together and give me a better sense of which direction I\'m headed

So, that\'s where I\'m at with it at the mo, I\'ve also decided I\'m gonna use metallics on this one, when I get to them.....
...I think

the gloss doesn\'t look special in the pics but i know from experience the difference it can make irl

Its a real shame the busts aren\'t available. They are really great sculpts.

I like the Black Goblin in particular

For the record, I like the painting on yours better than the one on the FW website.

I\'ve been lurking on this thread, but I have to ask, what thinners for what mettalics? Not using standard acrylic metals? I am intrigued.

Wonderful work BTW!

no I\'m gonna use Vallejo Alchohol based metallics

I\'ve used them before not realising I needed the thinner, that was that brush trashed :D

they are just so much more \"metallicy\" than the water based acrylics

Well I am intrigued... Could you not just use alcohol to thin and clean, or does it evaporate too fast?

Hmmmm. I think I wanna pick up some of their model air metals after enjoying their reg paints for juicin...... sorry, \"glazing\" and such, but if they\'re not too much I may pick up some of this range. I\'d love to see your results as with these as well.

And I see that Chris suggests something as well. Thanks you guys!

yeah i totally agree. got the gold and silver. used it on a few models so far and i love it. big areas are great, just whack it on (i find it\'s not thick enough to worry about thinning..) then shade, produces some lovely, shiny effects

or you can add an equal amount of metal medium into an acrylic metalic paint :D
i haven\'t found this works as well. the pigment seems to be my finer than even my best acrylic (which is a 12y/o citadel mithril silver, great stuff though)

I think it is turning out great. I love the technique used on the eyes. Good stuff.

I can\'t quite seem to get the right angle to show it, but there are about 5 different colors in the eyes, red, yellow, orange, a really dark red, etc, all radiating out in radial lines, the left eye seems to show it the best, IRL. I\'ll just have to keep trying different angles till it shows up better
