Very Cynical view:
Politicians in trouble, Hmmmn is there a crisis somewhere we can blow way out of proportion to hide behind?
Personally I think that the media are \"scare mongering\", but in a way this will make people react positively to help reduce the impact.
I\'ve never had Influenza.
Heavy colds, Chest infections yes, as most people have. But the only person I knew who did have Influenza lost close to two months off work and close to two stones in weight (28 pounds). He had to use a walking stick for months until he got his strength back. This was a guy who regularly ran marathons, cycled and was considered an athletic type.
If it can do that to a healthy man anyone with poor health is at risk.
So true Influenza isn\'t a \"shrug it off and be back to work next day\" type of illness.
