I guess I have less of a life than you but you\'ve been outpacing me the least few days (not to mention the time I was offline) so you\'ll soon be on top of me again (oo-er, missus).

For the first time in 5 years

I had to do yardwork!

I didn\'t think my lawn was THAT big but it took me quite a long time yesterday morning.

I weeded the back yard for about an hour, then it took two hours to find a place that sold an electric cordless lawn mower. I love it though. And then once I got home and everything set up it took another three hours to mow the front and back yards and then to break out my cheap little hopper to spread fertilizer/weed killer. But my yard looks sooo purdy.

And I went from a shade of bright white to red that is turning into a tan. But oh my god it\'s the worst farmers tan I\'ve had since I did archaeology!

In a few weeks I\'ll be ready to plant my garden though! I\'m planting a garden in the backyard so I can have fresh veggies. Mmm mmm mmmmmmmmmm! And I still have to finish landscaping the front yard.

But anyway, now that the yard work is done I\'m going to try and finish up my Spellsinger for Golden Demon. If I can finish the painting of him this afternoon I\'ll be in good shape!

Meg Im really curious about your electric lawn mower. could you do the whole yard in one charge? Im thinking of going that route next mower..maybe this year. What was the cost for it and who makes it? Name and model?

yup I was able to do the whole yard with it just straight out of the box and i\'m sure it wasn\'t even fully charged at that point. It\'s really easy to use, it\'s not propelled though it\'s a push electric and on an uneven turf that\'s still growing in it was a little difficult but on an already established lawn it should be a smoother ride.

I got it at home depot for $317. It was kind of expensive but it was what I wanted, no fumes, no oil, no gas . . . and I just opened a Home Depot Credit Card to get the 0% financing for six months. But I\'ll be able to pay it off once we get the rebate checks next month . . .

$317 is not bad for a mower..a good gas powered can be much more.

Start a small compost pile in a back corner in your yard for you clippings..it will be good for your garden. You can buy a compost bin at HD. Looks like a big trash bin, you put it in the top and remove the compost from the bottom.

Does anyone have a idea how to get lipstick out of feathers? I really don\'t think that this shade of red works on me.
@Bubba To make up for the mess, I\'ve got a truck load of ribs, steaks, burgers and other \'man\' foods out here. Plus a couple kegs of \"Wild fly\" beer. It\'s a beautiful day outside. What does everyone say to a BBQ?

@Meg I wonder how much more (if any) that you may have to mow? I not sure how fast the grass grows around your area. Then come to think of it at Hood the grass didn\'t grow to fast, but we really didn\'t take all that good of care (PT on it, little water,cut short every time, really short) I guess what I\'m asking is how thick/ tall will the electric cut in one go? Just curious.

Edit: Steel or plastic blade? Oh, and dang it for a moment I thought that it could have been one of those electric hover mowers....

It\'s a steel blade ducky and it can cut a fair bit. I won\'t let the yard go anyway because of Duffers. He\'s a relatively small dog so once the grass is getting high enough to annoy him it\'ll be cut. The grass around here doesn\'t seem to grow too quickly.

He\'d be more likely to play sherrif big dog of the south west, it being Texas and all.

I\'ll join you, Donna, not for the same reason, though. For the umpteenth time the last couple of weeks my adsl went down and I had to phone tech support to set it up again. It\'s costing me everytime I need to phone them. The first week, after the third disconnection, a supervisor spoke to me and offered me a refund for that week. I\'ve not been offered one for the second week. This time the techie said I will not have the problem again, he will make sure of it. I\'ll keep him to his word.
