Hello all,

I\'ve never submitted to the submissions forum, but, hell, anything to get some feedback. I\'ve just posted my version of Reaper\'s Taryn, Spearmaiden. Comments are greatly desired. Vote all ones if you like--I\'d rather have the feedback.

Here\'s the link: http://www.coolminiornot.com/63742

Enjoy.

Thanks for the comments.

About the base...I had envisioned her as a gladiator in a workout yard or on the floor of an arena. That\'s what she looks like to me, in any event. To an extent, I wanted a minimalist base because the figure is so dynamic--I didn\'t want the base to upstage the figure, but I may have erred on the side of caution.

Part of the problem with the base is the fact that I\'ve been working in 10mm for so long that I\'m getting bad at judging the scale of ballast and flock at larger scales. In retrospect, I should have used sand rather than the material I did use. Live and learn, I guess.

Thanks again. I wish I\'d posted to this forum before!

Great colour scheme..

I really liked the bright colourscheme you opted for. Works a treat. I gave it an 8. Might have been a 9 if the base had a bit more interest;)

I would comment, but i think most aspects have already been covered by other peoples comments, In general I agree with what has already been said there with the exception of the base, as while it is plain i think it suits the mini well

I agree with your theory of the base

but your application, as you noticed, may have been a bit extreme in that regard. I really like your concept of the gladiator pit...maybe some finer sand, some broken weapons on the ground around her, and some pools of blood.

Overall, though, I quite like the figure. You have a very subtle style, and I look forward to seeing more of your stuff. I voted and left a comment on the mini as well.
