Hello everyone, nice to meet you my names Ted. I recently have less time for gaming because of work. Mainly because I've outgrown the gaming side of the hobby. I'll start this thread to log my painting. That's the part of the hobby I enjoy the most. This Summer vacation I have several things on the bench so I'll post them here. Please give advice as I'm willing to learn and improve my technique. Just ordered a painting guide dvd from Jen Haley. Looking forward to learning and growing as a painter on here. :claply::)

The Jen Haley DVD is a great one. Lots to learn. Just remember that you have to take what she shows you and practice. Don't expect to go, "Ah-ha! So that's how she did that!" and then run to your table and have the same results.

Why not, Tryst? That's how it happened for me? Ha! ;)

To the OP, great videos, just do not get discouraged, and keep trying to get better, and then you will! Good luck.

Now now Chad. No boasting and kicking Trystan.....:sinister:

And i agree on Jen's video, it is really great. She covers all the basics and some of the more popular advanced stuff, as well as some basic color theory. And she is really good at explaining what she is doing and is easily understood.

My boast was all in the name of comedy, and kicking Tryst? Can that also be in the name of comedy?

Churchill MK VII. Tamiya Kit.

Thanks for chatting on my thread everyone. Here is my first summer project. Not perfect but very good fun to make and paint. Thank you. I used spray paint and brushwork a little. The matt gloss anti shine was from Army Painter and the Army Green primer was also. Other paints hand brushed on are Tamiya paint.
Churchill MK.VII scale 1/32. Tamiya kit. Tried to get it looking like it had whitewash winter camo on it that had worn off and it was now spring perhaps.
Using the Army Painter primer I found that the army green was very powdery. It worked well as a colour but has a hell of a lot of recess green dust trailing after it. It was hot yesterday too and living abroad army painter is not popular and may well have been an old can sitting on the shop shelf for a while. Anyway over all it was really fun to make this tank.

I saw this thread had returned to the top and thought to myself, what are they up to now. I was pleasantly surprised (and somewhat shocked) tofind the picture of your tank. Will this one get any lettering or other details or are you on tothe next project?

Yes I've still got decals to do and I'm going to add some more brushwork for the details. Why were you shocked? Usually fantasy minis only on here? I paint fantasy too.

Ooooo, can't go wrong with a good tank I don't think. Should make the tread-heads happy. Nice to see something a bit different than the space marines and nmm around here. :)
